'BRIDGERTON' 19TH CENTURY
 SAGA BECOMES NETFLIX SERIES
The Duke and I is the first of eight novels
Here's another period set project for us: as 'Deadline' reports, Netflix and Shonda Rhimes will turn Julia Quinn's historical romance novels BRIDGERTON into an eight part series and they've already cast Julie Andrews as the narrator of the story.

BRIDGERTON
is set in the sexy, lavish and competitive world of Regency London high society. From the glittering ballrooms of Mayfair to the aristocratic palaces of Park Lane and beyond, the series unveils a seductive, sumptuous world replete with intricate rules and dramatic power struggles, where no one is truly ever on steady ground. At the heart of the show is the powerful Bridgerton family. Comprised of eight close

knit siblings (each of them has one of the eight novels set between 1813 and 1827 dedicated too them), this funny, witty, daring and clever group must navigate the upper ten thousand’s marriage mart in search of romance, adventure and love.

Julie Andrews will lend her voice to Lady Whistledown, who, anonymous to readers, mysterious, sharp tongued gossip writer, uses a curious mix of social commentary and scathing insult to send the season of 1813’s ton into an all-out frenzy. The first book, Duke and I, is a love story between two wealthy aristocrats who fake an engagement to avoid societal pressures and their matchmaking mothers.
