While you are currently watching his horror series
Midnight Mass over at
Netflix,
Mike Flanagan has closed a deal with the streamer to turn
Edgar Allan Poe's famous Gothic story
THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER into a television series. Although the title is connected with one of his stories, the series will apparently cover multiple of his works. The story, published in 1893, features themes of madness, family, isolation and metaphysical identities. It follows a man who visits his friend, Roderick Usher, who lies ill in a gloomy estate. Spooky events inside and outside the house escalate into a terrifying conclusion to the physical and ancestral House of Usher. It is not known if the eight episode series will be period set or not.
