CHRIS EVANS TO PLAY
GENE KELLY IN A MOVIE
For years he dreamed of starring in a musical and now Chris Evans will play one of the biggest musical legends Gene Kelly: according to Deadline,
he will lead an untitled movie written by three time Oscar nominee John Logan and based on an idea by Chris himself. But the film will not be a Gene Kelly biopic, though. The story will focus on a 12 year old boy who works on the MGM Lot in 1952 and begins to create an imagined friendship with the legendary movie star Kelly while working on his next film. Rian Johnson, who worked with Chris on Knives Out, will produce together with him. You already know that Spiderman's Tom Holland will play another musical legend Fred Astaire in a biopic from Amy Pascal. A year ago it was also announced that Jamie Bell and Margaret Qualley will play Astaire and Ginger Rogers in biopic FRED AND GINGER at Amazon. Baz Luhrmann is, meanwhile, preparing a film on Elvis Presley with Austin Butler in the lead role.
