FIRST PLEVAKO IMAGES
FROM NEW HISTORICAL TV SERIES COMING FROM RUSSIA
I have a whole slate of new Russian period set series and films to present to you in the period ahead of us, they seem to be shooting projects in the
historical genre more than others these days, and I will launch this series of news with first images from their new saga PLEVAKO, a ten part series
which has been shooting all around Russia since last year. Always wonderful and charismatic Segei Bezrukov, whom you remember as Boris Godunov,
plays the title role, one of the most famous lawyers of the Russian Empire. The series will air next year on their channel NTV and online cinema Premier.

IN THE 19TH CENTURY RUSSIA
In the 60s of the 19th century, tzar Alexander II carried out a number
of liberal reforms, one of which was judicial. An important innovation
was
the openness of jury trials and the right of any defendant on
defense. Thus, by the end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s in St.
Petersburg and
Moscow, a separate group of lawyers began to stand out
among lawyers, many of whom were real stars, and high-profile trials
with their participation began
to attract hundreds of spectators,
competing with theatrical performances. Fyodor Plevako was one of the
most prominent heroes of that time. In
addition to his outstanding
oratorical talent and natural ingenuity, he had another important
feature that distinguished him from other lawyers - he
originated from
the ordinary people. Being illegitimate himself, Plevako perfectly
understood ordinary people and truly wanted to help them, which
made him
a people's favorite! He was striving to protect any client, regardless
of their status and financial situation.

WHO ELSE IS IN THE CAST?
Each of the ten episodes will cover some of
his famous cases. But it is worth noting that the series is not
biographical and is only inspired by
historical events. Zoya Berber,
Ksenia Traister, Daniil Vorobyov, Igor Gordin and many others will also
star in the series that has been shooting since November last year with the crew moving all around the country using also snowy exteriors last winter.
