In my recent, very successful, spotlight on the boys of SPARTACUS WAR OF THE DAMNED, I've commented how the lead actor Liam McIntyre was the only from the cast without a future project, but now that has changed: according to "The Hollywood Reporter" he will remain in sandals and with a sword in his hand since he will join HERCULES 3D, an epic love story in which Kellan Lutz plays the lead in the $70 million love story between Greek demigod Hercules and the mortal princess of Crete. Liam McIntyre will play young army captain Sotiris, who is initially an antagonist of the mythical hero Hercules. The two of them become close friends before being sold into slavery by a treacherous king. The film hits cinemas March 2014, a few months before Dwayne Johnson's HERCULES THRACIAN WARS (which also has Joseph Fiennes, Ian McShane and Rufus Sewell in the cast).

In television news today, famous John Woo has a very ambitious project: FLYING TIGERS will be made in the form of two cinema

films in China and in the form of a 6 part mini series for international viewers. To be shot in English, the story will, according to "Deadline", follow the volunteer fighter squadron formed by General Claire Chennault to help the Chinese fight against Japan before the U.S. entered WWII! The ageing Chinese planes were no match for the superior Japanese forces, until the volunteers arrived in American-made P-40 War Hawks. The two squadrons flew side by side, in fighter planes emblazoned with the gaping tiger’s teeth logo.

We do love it when our fave stars rise higher in the skies of Hollywood: brilliant Lee Pace will continue his busy season after playing Elven king Thranduil in THE HOBBIT, by playing a villain in sf epic GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY! The info on the villain hasn't been confirmed yet but it might be Taneleer Tivan or The Collector since a few days ago young Ophelia Lovibond has been cast as one of the Collector's henchmen. "The Wrap" reports that The Collector seeks out life forms and universes to protect them from the evil Thanos! If he accepts the role Lee will join Chris Pratt as Star-lord (strangely enough this role was first meant for Lee Pace), Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax and Michael Rooker as Yondu. I've recently also informed you that Lee Pace will take the lead role in TV show HALT AND CATCH FIRE about the rise of computers in the 80s!

JOINS BRAD PITT & ROBERT DE NIRO
Young star Shia LaBeouf has two new gigs: he will join Brad Pitt in FURY, a war drama based on a true story which follows a five-man American tank crew towards the end of World War II, as they fight a flailing Nazi army in April 1945, just before the war's end. Pitt will be the leader and Shia one of the soldiers in the film scheduled for November 2014 release. Shia LaBeouf will also join Robert De Niro in SPY'S KID. After he played Indiana Jones' son, he will now play De Niro's son in the espionage thriller based on real stories published in a series of newspaper articles. If they accept the roles, the two of them will play a father and son duo, with the story revolving around a traitorous spy who enlists his offspring to continue doing his dirty work.

Here's yet another remake in works: "Deadline" writes that 20th Century Fox is preparing a new version of GUYS AND DOLLS musical classic from the 1950's! And apparently Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon Levitt are wanted for the two lead roles! You probably remember that the original film had Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra with the story following Nathan Detroit, a gambler trying to set up his own craps game, who bets his friend Sky Masterson that he can't convince the wholesome missionary Sarah Brown (Jean Simmons) to come to Havana with him. Channing Tatum has proved his musical skills many times in his movies. You will see him next year in sf epic JUPITER ASCENDING and also in the new sequels to G.I. JOE 4 and 21 JUMP STREET!

ARMIE HAMMER & TOM CRUISE

THE MAN FROM THE U.N.C.L.E. SCIENCE FICTION FILM

We shall see an interesting duo in another remake - the big screen version of the 60s show THE MAN FROM THE U.N.C.L.E. "Deadline" reports that MIRROR MIRROR and THE LONE RANGER star Armie Hammer might join Tom Cruise in the movie which will see Cruise playing Napoleon Solo and Armie playing Illya Kuryakin, two agents working for the United Network Command for Law Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.). In the classic show the story centred on U.N.C.L.E.'s battles with the Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity (T.H.R.U.S.H.). The film is being directed by Guy Ritchie.

SELFLESS SF FILM

And I have yet another piece of info on hunky Ryan Reynolds this week, but I'm sure you don't mind (winking at my ladies). As "Deadline" writes he might possibly join SELFLESS science fiction thriller which could have amazing Tarsem Sing (MIRROR MIRROR, THE CELL, THE FALL, IMMORTALS) as the helmer since he is currently negotiating to take the directing job. The unusual plot of the film follows a rich older man who pays to have his mind transferred to a younger man's body. The body he is transplanted into turns out to be the cadaver of man who was murdered. He soon finds himself being hunted down by the killers as he tries to figure out why his new body was murdered in the first place.

Today we spotlight a sequel to the mega successful action comedy RED which earned almost $200 million in cinemas worldwide (starring Bruce Willis, Karl Urban and Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren) with the story about a black-ops agent Frank Moses who reassembles his old team of retired agents in a last ditch effort to survive and uncover his assailants. They were RED - Retired Extremely Dangerous! The sequel RED 2, advertised as THE BEST NEVER REST, should hit cinemas July 19th!

Hollywood Spy has reported before that John Malkovich is taking the lead role in CROSSBONES pirate show in which he will play famous buccaneer Blackbeard! Catherine Zeta Jones will join this year Russell Crowe in action drama BROKEN CITY while dame Helen Mirren will lend her voice in MONSTERS UNIVERSITY animated sequel. Catherine's fellow Welshman Anthony Hopkins will also work with Russell Crowe in NOAH sf epic in which he plays Methuselah! He is also supposed to join Liam Hemsworth in ARABIAN NIGHTS!

Since this find would get him even with his ex-bosses, he puts together a crew of English and Russian sailors for the task, taking off to uncharted depths with his motley crew. I have recently mentioned that Meryl Streep will star in the movie adaptation of famous musical INTO THE WOODS and now "Variety" reports that Johnny Depp might join her in the Disney's project. The project is based on James Lapine's Broadway musical, which follows a baker and his wife who try to break a curse placed upon them, which prevents them from having children. Along the way, they encounter fairy tale characters such as Rapunzel, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and many more. Meryl Streep is supposed to play an evil witch! The production could start sometime next year with Rob Marshall behind the helm!

Now, here is a super delicious info from the epic genre front: our dearly beloved Michael Fassbender will play the scheming king in the new movie adaptation of famous William Shakespeare's play MACBETH! Coming from the producers of SHAME and KING'S SPEECH and to be helmed by Justin Kurzel, the film will bring the new take on Shakespeare’s classic - about a ruthlessly ambitious Scottish lord who seizes the throne with the help of his scheming wife and three witches! Set in the 11th century and in the original language, the script is understood to be a visceral approach to the story including significant battle scenes. "Screen Daily" reports that the project has attracted a huge attention at Cannes this week and that one of big female names in Hollywood is in talks for the Lady Macbeth role! THE GREAT FIRE OF LONDON

Speaking of history, we do love large scaled ambitious historical dramas, and here's a new one coming up to the small screens: British ITV has commissioned a brand new four part 17th century set series GREAT FIRE OF LONDON in which the story will follow historical and fictional characters at the time of the 1666 catastrophe that

destroyed much of the fledgling city. The immense scale of the series will follow everyone from the humble baker Thomas Farriner and his family to the ambitious Samuel Pepys and King Charles II, and the characters' stories will interweave as the city, and their lives, are changed beyond imagining during one of the nation's greatest historical disasters. The drama will follow the four consecutive days in September 1666 when the Great Fire took hold. The fire consumes homes and lives as loyalties and friendships are tested and passions come to the fore. As the greatest city of the 17th century is destroyed, the fire is a catalyst to acts of forbidden love, deceit and despair! Ultimately, London is changed forever, paving the way for the dawn of a new era, in which modern London will rise from the ashes.

In movie news today the first images from the filming of DIVERGENT have hit the web, showing Tris in the knife throwing scene.

Unfortunately there is no sign of Four, but the sneak preview of Tris has whet our appetites for what is billed to be the hottest young adult adaption of a novel in 2014.

VERONICA ROTH SAGA

Following the success of other young adult franchises, DIVERGENT has been adapted from the novels by Veronica Roth and is set for release early next year. The set for the film mirrors the book in a dystopian Chicago of the future, where society has taken an unexpected turn. Separated into factions based on human traits, Beatrice “Tris” Prior, played by Shailene Woodley, leaves her faction and flees to a rival group where she falls for an older man. The fantasy element of the movie sets it up for success and the focus is once again on what happens if there is a shift in the parameters of society. It looks set to be great entertainment, and just like the casino games that are available for mobile at MobileCasino.mobi it will keep you glued to your screen and coming back for more.

KATE WINSLET & ASHLEY JUDD IN THE CAST

Neil Burger is directing the first movie in the trilogy and the star studded cast includes Ashley Judd, Kate Winslet, Jai Courtney, Maggie Q, Theo James and Lenny Kravitz’s daughter, Zoe Kravitz! Movie studios Summit-Lionsgate are behind the release. Fans of the books have had an exciting year, as earlier this month author Veronica Roth revealed the title of book 3 as “Allegiant”. It seems that British star Colin Firth is trying to become an action star: "LR" reports that he might take the lead role in Matthew Vaughn's THE SECRET SERVICE a film about a James Bond superspy who works

for MI6 and takes his slacker nephew under his wing. Named ‘Uncle Jack’ he mentors his nephew Gary in tradecraft in the hopes that Gary can change and become an MI6 agent. The story is described as Bond meets My Fair Lady :) Firth is also set to star in Rupert Everett's THE HAPPY PRINCE about the last days in the life of Oscar Wilde – a celebrity, a genius, an icon, even a national treasure – now in the midst of the Public meltdown: an excessive quadrangular love story he is trapped in. Everyone wants Oscar – Constance, Robbie and Bosie. The result is that freedom eludes him. The once hailed writer observes his own failure

WOMAN IN BLACK ANGEL OF DEATH

Speaking of Firth, Jeremy Irvine, who will star next to Firth in epic drama THE RAILWAY MAN, has taken the lead role in THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH, the sequel to last year's Victorian horror which starred Daniel Radcliffe. The star of WAR HORSE will now play in the story happening four decades later and set during World War II after the government has seized the eerie Eel Marsh House and a group of evacuated children arrives to awaken its scary tenant.

'7:39' MINI SERIES

Meanwhile over in UK, BBC is preparing new two part romantic drama series 7:39 which will have THE WALKING DEAD's star David Morrisey in the lead role. Exploring the romantic lives of commuters on the 7.39 train into Waterloo, the drama will explore the lives of frustrated husband Carl (David Morrissey), his wife Maggie (Olivia Colman), health club manager Sally (Sheridan Smith) and her personal trainer fiancé Ryan (Sean Maguire from MEET THE SPARTANS). Over a fight for a seat, Sally and Carl meet and the pair soon find their lives transformed by their daily train journeys.

Here's an interesting epic adventure awaiting us in the future: according to "Deadline" Stephen Lang from AVATAR and TERRA NOVA has joined THE DRAGON ANGEL in which he will play the dual role of a French Colonel in 1860 China and the mysterious chauffeur of an American architect in modern-day Beijing! The Chinese set coproduction will have visual genius Pitof as the director (he's a horrid helmer as we've seen in CATWOMAN, but is a master in visuals as we've seen in famous movies DELICATESSEN and THE CITY OF LOST CHILDREN by Jean Pierre Jeunet). The film itself is described as a quest for harmony through the narrow lanes of old Beijing and the loops of history...

Now, ya all know we don't have a taste for vampire movies, but my boys have been complaining that there's been an entirely too many naked hunks here in the photos recently (what can I do, roles in Hollywood are 90% for men), so here's out dear Olga Kurylenko to feed my boys' appetites (click for extreme naughtiness :) Mind blowingly gorgeous Ukrainian beauty, whom you're currently watching next to Cruise in OBLIVION, will take the lead role in VAMPIRE ACADEMY: BLOOD SISTERS! "Deadline" reports that the film will be based on the Richelle Mead's young adult novel series, with the story revolving around Rose Hathaway, a teenage girl that has a deep connection with her vampire best friend Lissa. The pair attend a special school for vampires that helps to maintain their humanity. Olga will play head mistress Kirova (I bet you like the sound of that you naughty devils) while Russian hunkster Danila Kozlovskiy (naughty click) will play the lead male role of Dimitri!

JOINS OLIVIA WILDE IN 'THE KEEPING ROOM'

Sometime ago your trusted HOLLYWOOD SPY mentioned that Daniel Barber is planning to direct THE KEEPING ROOM sweeping war epic and now "Deadline" writes that Australian star Sam Worthington has joined the cast which already includes Olivia Wilde, Hailee Steinfeld and Brit Marling! The war drama tells the story of two sisters and one African American slave late in the Civil War. The three women are forced to defend their home after all the men have left for war. Sam Worthington is playing a soldier, who encounters the women after breaking off from the Union Army.

I ORIGINS

SCIENCE FICTION FILM

Speaking of Brit Marling, she will also join Michael Pitt in science fiction thriller I ORIGINS! To be directed by Mike Cahill, who helmed ANOTHER EARTH drama which brought Brit's name into certain fame, the story of the movie will follow a molecular biologist (Michael Pitt) who finds evidence that may change our society as we know it. He stumbles across the information with his lab partner, which will be played by Brit Marling.The cast also includes everybody's favourite Steven Yeunwho plays Glenn in THE WALKING DEAD and lovely Astrid Berges Frisbey who played a mermaid in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN!

Holland's new king Willem Alexander. These royal posts are always a huge hit here, as you've already seen with our exclusive reports from royal weddings in London, Monaco, Jordan and Luxembourg!

NEW GENERATION

Willem Alexander has taken over the throne in Netherlands earlier this week after his mother, now the ex Queen Beatrix, had decided to abdicate after her 33 year reign and leave the monarchy to

a younger generation (which was her official explanation)! This also means that little princess Catharina Amalia, the first daughter of King Willem Alexander and his wife Queen Maxima, is now the first in line to succeed the throne after him.

ROYAL INAUGURATION

Unlike Britain and some other monarchies, the royal crown is never worn in Holland, so this was more of an inauguration than a coronation. After Willem Alexander swore that he will be faithful to the constitution, the members of the upper and lower houses of

parliament individually swore their allegiance to the new monarch. The new king then appeared on the balcony of the royal palace on Amsterdam’s Dam Square to meet his people!

ROYAL TIDBITS

FIRST KING IN 123 YEARS!
It is interesting that Willem Alexander celebrated his forty sixth birthday only two days before he became the new king. The day of his birthday will now be celebrated as the King's Day in Netherlands. It is also interesting that he is now the first Dutch king in a 123 years

long period in which the country was ruled by queens! He is also the youngest monarch in Europe! Recent changes in the Dutch constitution have made his royal role strictly ceremonial and he won't be able to choose the government.

QUEEN MAXIMA

The monarchy is very popular in Netherlands and up to 78% of people there support it. Willem's wife Queen Maxima has had a big role in this: she is beloved by the people not only for her humanitarian and charity work and her style, but also for having a positive influence

on the new king who was known for his mischievous youth and his love for a good drink. He apparently changed his ways after marrying Maxima and getting three kids with her. Most people think the monarchy is beloved by the Dutch people only because of Queen Maxima.

Victoria of Sweden, grand duke Guillaume of Luxembourg, crown prince of Thailand! According to protocol only the crowned heads were invited since the new king must meet the current and future monarchs first before meeting other members of royal families!

As you already know by now, one of HOLLYWOOD SPY's favourite young stars, deeply delightful and utterly sweet Lily Collins from MIRROR MIRROR and THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS, will headline yet another big adventure. The so far doomed project PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES which was cancelled and delayed tones of times so far, might have Lily in the lead role. The movie adaptation of a Seth Grahame Smith parody novel brings a new version of Jane Austen's famous classic, pitting Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy against the living dead and even some evil ninjas in the mix of romance, horror and comedy.

"Deadline" reports that the story focuses on an archer who comes of age under Henry V as the king prepares to lead his outnumbered English troops against the French in the Battle Of Agincourt. The protagonist is a young man with a death sentence on his head who is saved when his skills with the bow catch the attention of the king. The archer develops into a warrior and falls in love with a young woman whose virtue he saved from a lecherous priest. He becomes the portal to the bloody battle.

A week or two ago HOLLYWOOD SPY mentioned that Keanu Reeves will star in new science fiction romance PASSANGERS as Jim Preston, a mechanic travelling on a 120-year journey to a planet in another galaxy, whose cryogenic pod fails. He wakes up more than a century before the other passengers, and decides to wake up another passenger, the female journalist Aurora. While the two begin to fall in love, they also discover a major malfunction on the ship that may threaten their lives. And the new info is that Aurora will be played by Reese Witherspoon! Interesting choice, I'm surprised the two of them haven't played together before!

IN DRACULA EPIC

And another film we've mentioned recently - Universal's new take on DRACULA which will have brilliant Welsh star Luke Evans in the lead role - has new cast addition! According to "Variety" gorgeous Sarah Gadon (WORLD WITHOUT END, COSMOPOLIS, ANTIVIRAL) will take the lead female role! The story of the epic horror film will mix together the mythology surrounding the famous vampire with the elements of the true story of the historical Dracula - medieval prince Vlad the Impaler who fought the Turks who were invading Europe at that time and who served as the

inspiration for Bram Stoker's famous character! The film is set for August next year!

As you remember Draven was played by Brandon Lee and Vincent Peres in previous versions of the film. Fingers crossed that Luke sings in the film too, since he starred previously in musicals and has the most amazing voice!

Here's an unexpected duo: according to latest news Katherine Heigl and Clive Owen will team up for new conspiracy thriller SURVIVOR!James McTeigue (who directed the above mentioned Luke Evans in THE RAVEN last year) will direct the story revolving around an American woman working for the U.S. State Department in London. An office bombing leaves her the sole survivor, and she is soon caught up in a conspiracy plot that forces her to become a fugitive. She only has until New Year's Eve to clear her name and stop another attack from happening. Earlier this spring I've also reported that Katherine Heigl will join Patrick Wilson in NORTH OF HELL a film about a successful businessman whose domineering wife viciously controls every aspect of his life.

According to "Deadline" Starz has finished gathering the writers for the "writers room" for their potentially new showINCURSION. Unlike other channels which order pilots, Starz has "writers rooms" with writers whose task is to pen enough episodes for a full season order. INCURSION comes from SPARTACUS creator Steven DeKnight and revolves around a group of soldiers caught in a war against a hostile alien race. Each season of the potential series will be fought on a new, exotic planet as humanity inches deeper into enemy territory. Starz is also preparing "writers room" for OUTLANDER. Based on Diana Gabaldon's book, It follows Claire, a married WWII combat nurse, who mistakenly steps back in time to year 1743 where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world of adventure that sends her on the run and threatens her life. The trailer is rather intriguing and atmospheric presenting two lead stars - X FILES star Gillian Anderson and Irish superhunk Jamie Dornan whom you've watched as the sheriff in ONCE UPON A TIME. Trying to runaway from his image of a top model, Dornan here plays serial killer Paul Spector, who has a dark fascination with solicitor Sarah Kay (Laura Donnelly). Gillian Anderson plays a detective brought to Belfast to solve a mysterious murder and catch the killer. The psychological thriller will have five parts!

As some of you know your trusted Dezzy works as a book translator when not being HOLLYWOOD SPY and I must confess that one of my favourite translations in my career was of sweeping Asian saga WOLF

TOTEM by Jiang Rong which took 30 years in writing and won famous Man Prize (that's Asian Booker). Click for the Serbian cover. Now amazing director Jean Jacques Annaud is adapting the novel for the big screen! According to THR Chinese stars Feng Shaofeng and Shawn Dou Xiao will take the lead roles in the French Chinese co production. Feng will play a student being sent down to work in the Inner Mongolian steppes during China's Cultural Revolution, and whose new way of life is thrown into chaos as an apparatchik orders the killing of all wolves living in the area. He saves one of the baby wolves and the saga then follows him raising the cub, learning to live with the nature in the traditional way of the steppes scorched by boiling summers and freezing winters with no electricity nor houses. The novel also depicts how the destruction of the steppes lead to today's Beijing being whipped by sandstorms coming from the deserts where once lush green fields were. This is also a chance for Annaud to redeem himself in China since he was banned there for many years due to his depiction of the Chinese people in his infamous film SEVEN YEARS IN TIBET!

RIDLEY SCOTT'S SHOWS

TERROR & RAIDERS

Meanwhile, over at AMC, according to Deadline, Ridley Scott's production company is preparing some great new shows! I've already written about THE TERROR which is set in 1847 and follows the crew of a Royal Naval expedition in search of the Arctic’s treacherous Northwest Passage. Instead, they discover a monstrous predator that stalks the ships in a desperate game of survival, which could threaten the region and its native people forever. Ridley is also preparing an untitled futuristic, dystopian, sci-fi saga from the producers of FRINGE and THE WALKING DEAD, and RAIDERS, a WWII drama about a rogue U.S. Navy commander who leads an unconventional warfare unit into the heart of Africa on a mission that will bend the arc of history. Ridley's company is also preparing VATICANshow for Showtime and CLONDIKE for Discovery Channel.

primetime from SPARTACUS. Produced by Michael Bay it is sort of a prequel to famous TREASURE ISLAND story and it revolves around Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) and his men with the whole plot being set 20 years before Robert Louis Stevenson's original story. The series will feature Flint, the most feared pirate of his day, as he expands his ranks and adds John Silver (Luke Arnold) to his crew. The eight part series also has MERLIN's Tom Hopper in the cast alongside Zach McGowan, Hannah New and Jessica Parker Kennedy!

'RISE UP' SONG FOR "EPIC" ANIMATED MOVIE

I don't know about you but I really miss movie songs following new movies, some of the best pop songs have come to us that way from Celine Dion's TITANIC song "My Heart Will Go On" to Leona Lewis' "I See You" for AVATAR, to Enya's "May It Be" for LORD OF THE RINGS. Adele's recent "Skyfall" and Mariah Carey's recent hit "Almost Home" for OZ GREAT AND POWERFUL might bring back this lovely trend especially since Beyonce has just announced that this month she will release new song "Rise Up" to promote the upcoming enchanting animated taleEPIC which hits cinemas from May 24th! Beyonce has co-written this song with Sia, for the film in which she lends her voice to forest queen Tara, the ruler of the magical world of the leafmen! Also starring Collin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried and Jason Sudeikis the film tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil.

IN SCORSESE'S 'SILENCE' EPIC
Now this is a strange casting choice: SPIDERMAN's Andrew Garfield is to ditch his modern geek looks and go to the 17th century. According to "Variety" he will join Ken Watanabe in Martin Scorsese directed epic movie SILENCE. The big screen adaptation of Shusaku Endo's novel has a story set in the 17th Century, and following Father Rodrigues (Andrew Garfield), a Portuguese Jesuit priest who travels to Japan to confront his mentor, after rumours surfaced that he had abandoned the church. Ken Watanabe will portray Father Rodrigues' Japanese interpreter. Don't forget that another modern star whom we cannot imagine in ancient outfits, Keanu Reeves, will also go to ancient China in 47 RONIN epic later this year.

THE LAST SHIP EPIC SHOW

FIRST APOCALYPTIC TRAILER

One of this years pilots that I've announced a couple of times has been officially greenlit for the whole season: Michael Bay's THE LAST SHIP will get ten episode season at TNT! With the cast lead by dashing "Grey's Anatomy" star Eric Dane alongside stunning Rhona Mitra ("Underworld"), Adam Baldwin ("Firefly") and Tracy Middendorf("Boardwalk Empire"), the story of the new show centres on a post-apocalyptic world, in which the global population is almost entirely destroyed. The crew and captain of the ship, who have not succumbed to the tragedy, must face life as some of the only survivors on Earth.

Dane plays the captain, while Rhona is a scientist who is trying to find the cure for the virus which has destroyed the rest of the world. The show will hit small screens summer 2014! Check out the first exciting trailer:

RICHARD MADDEN IS

PRINCE IN CINDERELLA

It's official, my little freaks, HOLLYWOOD SPY's beloved epic star Richard Madden (Robb Stark, king of the North in GAME OF THRONES) has landed himself the role of the prince in the new live action big screen version of CINDERELLA! As I've been reporting throughout the last year, Cate Blanchett is taking the evil Stepmother role with legendary British actor and director Kenneth Branagh taking the directing job. DOWNTON ABBEY actress Lily James has got the title role, which is both good and bad: bad because she doesn't really look Cinderella, and good because they actually wanted to give the role to that talentless HARRY POTTER brat at some point! We shall also watch Richard Madden in A PROMISE next to Alan Rickman and Rebecca Hall: a romantic drama set in Germany just before WWI centring on a married woman who falls in love with her husband's teacher. Separated by the war, the pledge their devotion to one another.

DOMINIC COOPER JOINS

LUKE EVANS IN DRACULA

Another of HOLLYWOOD SPY's pet stars Luke Evans has a new mate in the cast for Universal's historical epic DRACULA scheduled for August next year. Dominic Cooper has just joined Evans, in the title role, and Sarah Gadon (from WORLD WITHOUT END epic mini series) and will possibly play Turkish sultan Mehmed who ruled the Balkan peninsula in the medieval period of prince Vlad the Impaler, the historical ruler who served as the inspiration for Bram Stoker's DRACULA. The film will weave both the historical and the fictional character. It is interesting that this won't be Cooper's first time around vampires, since he recently starred in ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER!

And here it finally is: the first trailer for science fiction drama GRAVITY which should open in cinemas this October with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in the lead roles!

The Alfonso Cuaron directed film follows Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) a brilliant medical engineer, who is on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney). The film, shot in Bulgaria, was originally supposed to have a cameo from Gerard Butler but he refused the gig. The film was first titled XERXES and then 300 BATTLE OF ARTEMISIA and was

originally focusing mostly on the Persian king but the focus was then shift onto the Greek general. Zack Snyder was supposed to helm the film but had to drop off due to MAN OF STEEL. A special team of top

fitness experts who worked on the first film was brought again to train the actors and give them all six pack abs and ripped muscles.There will, apparently, be crazy sex scenes between Sullivan and Eva in the film!

Sometime ago HOLLYWOOD SPY has announced that Ron Howard is preparing to direct sea epic IN THE HEART OF THE SEA a 19th century set drama in which Chris Hemsworth will star as the first mate on board the Essex, a doomed ship whose encounter with an angry sperm whale was the inspiration for famous novel Moby Dick. The ship went down in the middle of the South Pacific after being rammed by the whale, and its crew drifted for more than 90 days, ultimately forced to turn to drastic measures in order to survive. According to fresh rumours from "Deadline" Benjamin Walker from ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER might play George Pollard, the privileged son of a whaling family, and the captain of the Essex who gets downgraded after the accident!

LEGENDS and Michael Bay's THE LAST SHIP into series! Over at CW space opera SELECTION has been passed over for the second time, but other of their sf pilots OXYGEN (now titled STAR CROSSED) and THE 100 along with TOMORROW PEOPLE will get whole seasons along

with historical saga REIGN on the life of Mary Queen of Scots! The sad news is that ABC has decided not to make GOTHICA into series. Starring Tom Ellis as Dr Frankenstein with Dorian Grey and Grace van Helsing in the gallery too, the doomed project was to weave fantasy with present times.
