'SUSAN COOPER' SPY COMEDY

Well, here's an unusual pair to be seen on the big screen: British action superstar Jason Statham has joined Melissa McCarthy in spy comedy SUSAN COOPER! To be directed by Paul Feig, the movie, which will be Feig's and Melissa's third collaboration after THE HEAT and BRIDESMAIDS, has a story following the adventures of an unlikely spy, Susan Cooper. Statham will play another spy with whom McCarthy will team up. It is interesting that while Melissa recently had THE HEAT movie with Sandra Bullock, Statham is scheduled to star in the remake of HEAT action movie which originally starred Robert De Niro. He is also playing a villain in FAST AND FURIOUS VII!

TOPLINES SALVATION SHOW
Tones of TV news today, people, and don't forget that this Sunday I will be bringing you the updates on all 2014 TV pilots with castings revealed! First, today, our dearest Ashley Judd will again topline a show after THE MISSING. According to 'Deadline' she will now lead the cast in new NBC drama SALVATION! When Mega-Church Pastor Daniel Strickland suddenly dies, his loyal wife, Jennifer Strickland (Ashley Judd), must rally to keep their family together and save the church. Stark Sands will play Paul Strickland, the heir apparent to Daniel’s evangelical empire who suffers from a chronic stutter and might have played a role in his dad’s death. Meg Steedle will play Stricklands’ eldest daughter who is married to a Congressman and pregnant with her third child.
JOHN RHYS DAVIES JOINS 'HIEROGLYPH' EPIC SERIES

And our most anticipated of the future shows, Ancient Egypt set HIEROGLYPH at Fox, has added our favourite dwarf from LORD OF THE RINGS John Rhys Davies to the cast. Set in ancient Egypt, where fantasy and reality intertwined, it follows a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharaoh (Reece Ritchie), navigating palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and even a few divine sorcerers. Rhys Davies will play Vocifer, the thief's one-time mentor who was a dashing thief back in his day.

'BOYCHOIR' GATHERS

JOSH LUCAS, DUSTIN HOFFMAN, KATHY BATES, EDDIE IZZARD

Deadline also reports that Francois Girard's new drama BOYCHOIR has added Debra Winger, Josh Lucas, Eddie Izzard and Kevin McHale, alongside Dustin Hoffman. It will follow an angry young boy who is completely out of his element in the new school and finds himself in a battle of wills with a demanding choir master Carvelle (Dustin Hoffman) who recognizes a unique talent in the kid and pushes him. Josh Lucas will play the boy’s estranged father, with Kevin McHale as a young music teacher who champions the kid. Debra Winger is the principal at the boy’s Texas school, and Izzard is a teacher at the new school. Kathy Bates has a supporting role as the school’s headmistress.

PATRICK WILSON IN ANT-MAN

WITH PAUL RUDD & MICHAEL DOUGLAS

According to 'Variety' the latest star to join the cast of Marvel's ANT-MAN movie adaptation is American thespian Patrick Wilson. He already played a superhero, he was Nite Owl in WATCHMEN, but it is still not known whom he will play in ANT-MAN. We already know that Michael Douglas will play Hank Pym, while Paul Rudd will play Scott Lang who was the ANT-MAN in the comics after Hank. There are also rumours that HOBBIT star Evangeline Lilly is negotiating to take the role of Pym's daughter who has a romance with Scott Lang. Scheduled for July 2015, the movie will follow Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym who uses his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects.

SUPERNATURAL TRIBES SPINOFF

WEREWOLVES & SHAPESHIFTERS

In TV news, SUPERNATURAL spinoff series SUPERNATURAL TRIBES is adding stars to its cast. The show will revolve around various Mafia-esque monster families who, unknown to humans, run the underbelly of Chicago. The clans are now being tracked by a hunter who is trying to rid Chicago of anything supernatural. PRETTY LITTLE LIARS star Sean Faris will play Julian Darant, who is part of a wealthy werewolf clan who are feuding with a family of shape-shifters. Lucien Laviscount will be Ennis Roth, a trainee cop turned hunter who is caught in the crossfire of the monster war. HEROES actress Danielle Savre will be Margo, acting head of the leading shape shifting clan. Formerly a punk rocker, Margo is now a corporate professional and feels threatened once her prodigal brother David (Nathaniel Buzolic) returns. VAMPIRE DIARIES'Stephen Martines, plays a world-weary Chicago cop who serves as a mentor to Ennis (Laviscount) but also is secretly on the payroll of one of the powerful monster families. The 20th episode of

current SUPERNATURAL season will be an introduction to the TRIBES spinoff!

BBC 'POLDARK' HISTORICAL

SERIES

Speaking of HOBBIT stars, our favourite dwarf Kili or Aidan Turner :) will take the lead role in BBC's new eight part series POLDARK! The adaptation of Winston Graham's acclaimed saga will be set in the 18th century Cornwall following the story of the rebellious Ross Poldark as he returns from the American War of Independence to Cornwall, only to find that his beloved county has dramatically changed in his absence. BBC already had a small screen adaptation of POLDARK novels earlier in the 1970's and this new version will air next year.

DEZZY'S LITERA- TURE LESSON
When he returns to England, POLDARK finds out that his fiancée, having believed him dead, is about to marry his cousin. POLDARK then restores his own fortunes by reopening one of the family's tin mines. After several years he marries a servant girl, and is gradually reconciled to the loss of his former fiancee's love who has become a widow and is about to marry POLDARK's arch-enemy. There are 12 novels in the series which were published in the period of 50 years!

'A TO Z' SITCOM PILOT AT NBC

It's that time of the year when castings for the new TV pilots (the first episodes of potential shows upon which it will be decided whether a show will be picked up

for a whole season) are on, and I have tones of TV updates for you today. Let us start with always charming Ben Feldman (LIVING WITH FRAN, MAD MEN) who has just been cast in A TO Z sitcom at NBC. The story follows the relationship between a young couple, Andrew (Feldman) and Zelda (Cristin Milioti), from meeting to breakup. Andrew is described as an optimist, a smart, sarcastic guy’s guy who, despite his love of sports and action movies, is a closet romantic and believes in “the one” — now he just needs to find her. Leonora Crichlow from British BEING HUMAN will play Zelda's roommate and co-worker.

LINDSAY PRICE

JOINS 'LIFESAVER' NBC COMEDY

One of my fave TV faces, gorgeous Lindsay Price (she was so brilliant in prematurely deceased LIPSTICK JUNGLE)is now set to play in LIFESAVER sitcom at NBC! The odd couple comedy centres on the uptight, controlling and a bit neurotic Dr. Graham Permenter (Christian Borle) and loose cannon Leon (Jonathan Ryland), who become inextricably linked after Leon saves Graham’s life by giving him a kidney. Price will play Jennifer, Graham’s girlfriend and a doctor at the hospital with him who doesn’t mind Leon in the way that Graham does.
HOW I MET YOUR DAD SPINOFF
Over at CBS they're preparing HOW I MET YOUR DAD spinoff sitcom which will have Greta Gerwig and Drew Tarver in the lead roles. In the vein of the original series, this one tells the story from a female point of view, that of Sally (Greta Gerwig), and revolves around a new group of friends in New York. Tarver will play Todd, Sally’s best friend and roommate from college who is now married to her brother.

JUSTIN HARTLEY IN

'DAMAGED GOODS' ABC SITCOM

Another of my fave TV faces, Justin Hartley will topline ABC comedy pilot DAMAGED GOODS which revolves around two damaged men (Hartley and Steve Talley) and two damaged women who explore the minutiae of love and relationships. According to 'Deadline', Hartley’s smart and egoistic Tim is hit hard when his girlfriend and law firm colleague gets the promotion he expected to get. Childish and unable to applaud her accomplishments or be with a woman who outranks him, the relationship seems all but over — unless she resigns. Ben Lawson is also in the cast.

ELLEN BURSTYN IN

'OLD SOUL' PILOT
Meanwhile, NBC's comedy pilot OLD SOUL has just added Ellen Burstyn next to Natasha Lyonne. Produced by Amy Poehler, it centres on a reformed wild child Nadia (Lyonne) who has a business caring for the elderly and feels she has more in common with her colorful old clients than she does with people her age. Burstyn will be Nadia’s aunt Eileen, an earthy lesbian with a New Age bent who has recently survived cancer. Nadia may take care of her elderly clients, which are Eileen’s friends, but Eileen takes care of Nadia. Rita Moreno and Fred Willard are also in the cast.

Over last few months I've been informing you of the casting process for our most anticipated historical show HIEROGLYPH from Fox, but all that time we were waiting for the lead actor to be announced! And here he is: British actor Max Brown, whom we remember from THE TUDORS, SPOOKS and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, will topline the show set in ancient Egypt, where fantasy and reality are intertwined! The story follows Ambrose (Max Brown), a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharaoh (Reece Ritchie), navigating palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and even a few divine sorcerers. The 13 episode epic series will also have John Rhys Davies, Kelsey Chow, Condola Rashad, Caroline Ford in the cast!

SANTA CLAUS AND VIKINGS

IN 'WINTER'S KNIGHT' EPIC FILM
And since Vikings are definitely trendy these days, Sony Pictures has just paid stunning one million bucks for a high

concept script WINTER'S KNIGHT which will explore Santa Claus' origins in Norse mythology! They also have Nordic directors Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning (they did Oscar nominated KON TIKI and are now working on PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES) in mind as helmers. There aren't many details on the plot, but it is known that the epic movie would explore the origins of Santa Clause and Christmas in Viking tradition. Many studios have fought battles for this script. The two directors are also directing extremely expensive MARCO POLO historical series for Netflix!

OSCARS 2014 FASHION REPORT

BEST DRESSED STARS

How did you like the fashion at last night's OSCARS 2014? If you ask me, Cate Blanchett wasn't just the winner of the evening with Best Actress Oscar, but also the winner at the Red Carpet in her

Armani crystal studded gown! Camila Alves, Matthew McConaughey's love, also looked stunning in draped dress, while Sandra Bullock and Pink had lovely gowns in lovely colours!

NOT BAD, NOT BAD

Not badly looking, but not stunning either, were Meryl Streep, Amy Adams who disappointed a bit looking uninspired, while Angelina Jolie and Kristin Chenoweth looked decent in gold.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga looked normal for once, Jenna Dewan, Olga Kurylenko and Kate Hudson also looked refined and lovely.

THE WORST DRESSED

The worst dressed was Pharell Williams, whose horrid outfit was even offensive if you ask me. Jennifer Lawrence and Naomi Watts were overly simple, Charlize Theron again had an overly weird

gown, while Julia Roberts looked a bit funeralish. Emma Watson and Anne Hathaway always lack style, but absolute freak of the evening among ladies was Anna Kendrick!

Continuing our updates on upcoming TV pilots for possible new shows and sitcoms (hope you haven't missed our extensive Sunday report), here's a casting update on SAVE THE DATE comedy series pilot. Michelle Trachtenberg has just joined Maggie Lawson, Tom Bennett and Julie White in the romantic comedy over at CBS. SAVE THE DATE will revolve around Kate (Maggie Lawson), a newly single 35-year-old woman who suddenly books a wedding venue while being drunk, leaving herself with the task of finding the right man in time. Tractenberg will play Hilary, Kate's no-nonsense sister and roommate. Tom Bennett plays Roger, Hilary's boyfriend of four years, and Julie White plays Kate and Hilary's mother.

BABYLON FIELDS NBC SHOW

THE DEAD ARE RISING
If you are more into science fiction, mystery and suspense, NBC's drama pilot BABYLON FIELDS is more for you: described as a sardonic drama, in BABYLON FIELDS, the dead are rising in Babylon, NY, and as a result, lives are regained, old wounds are reopened and families are restored — for better or worse. The newly regenerated bodies are healing faster and growing stronger than anyone else leading to the suspicion that they might be the next step in human evolution. The cast of the show will be lead by Kyle Schmid (COPPER) and Meagan Good.

Since you've enjoyed HOLLYWOOD SPY's fashion report from Oscars yesterday (we had countless retweets on it), here's a fashion report from VANITY FAIR OSCARS 2014 PARTY! The absolute belle of the evening was Kate Hudson in mindblowing Zuhair Murad gown,

followed closely by Ewan Rachel Wood in emerald green dress by our favourite designer Elie Saab. Sofia Vergara was breathtaking in

Cavalli design! Also looking stunning and all sexy kitten were Selena Gomez, Kate Beckinsale in gold, Jenna Dewan in silver and Olivia Munn in white.

GAGA GOES GLAMOROUS

Lady Gaga looked graceful in Versacci, Emily Rossum opted for a divine ballroom gown and some truly horrid shoes. While Sienna Miller had some rather strange bracelets around her arms.

It's interesting that some of the stars actually had much better gowns at the party than at the Oscars, and this goes especially for Amy Adams and Anna Kendrick who should've switched their gowns and worn these at the Oscars ceremony.

STRANGE FASHION FREAKS

Choosing rather weird and strange outfits were Elizabeth Banks in puffy blue, Jaime King in scorching red, Reese Witherspoon and Diane Kruger in awkward black!

'THE GREAT FIRE' EPIC SERIES

GETS OLIVER JACKSON COHEN, CHARLES DANCE, ANDREW BUCHAN, JACK HUSTON

A starstudded cast has been gathered for ITV's new historical mini series THE GREAT FIRE! GAME OF THRONES Charles Dance and DRACULA's Oliver Jackson Cohen lead

the cast which will also have Rose Leslie, Jack Huston, Andrew Buchan, Daniel Mays! Set in the 17th century the four part mini series will tell the story of humble baker Thomas Farriner (Andrew Buchan) and his fabled involvement in The Great Fire of London. Jack Huston will play King Charles II, Oliver Jackson Cohen is portraying his brother, James Duke of York, Daniel Mays is Samuel Pepys, a close confidante, while Charles Dance will be Lord Denton - an emissary of the King's! To be directed by Jon Jones (MR. SELFRIDGES) the series won't use CGI but real pyrotechnics and special effects.

DEZZY'S HISTORY LESSON

In 1666 London was the greatest city in the world with a population of 300,000! In just four days THE GREAT FIRE destroyed nearly half the city and threatened the monarchy. The fire didn't reach the aristocratic parts of London, but it did burn down St. Paul's Cathedral, and the homes of about 70,000 inhabitants. The deaths of the poor people weren't recorded at that time so the number of victims is still unknown. The fire had actually started in Farriner's bakery at midnight and then rapidly spread across the town. The indecisiveness of London's mayor to start the demolition of certain parts of the city in order to stop the fire had caused the firestorms which ate up the rest of the city in just two days. The rumours of the fire being set by foreigners resulted in horrid lynchings and street violence against strangers. The battle against fire was won when the Tower of London garrison used gunpowder to create effective firebreaks to halt further spread eastward. Since there wasn't enough money nor workforce (most of the citizens fled the city) London wasn't transformed into a monumental new capitol but was instead pretty much recreated as the old one with new buildings being of stone not of wood. It is interesting that a

year before a huge plague epidemics had killed a sixth of London's citizens and the fire the year after that actually helped purge all the rats and unsanitary housing which were a threat for a new outbreak. Ultimately, London was changed forever, paving the way for the dawn of a new era, in which modern London rose from the ashes.

It's a very poor day today in movie news world, so here's something to sweeten up the pain of it: a

teaser for PADDINGTON bear movie starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth! Arriving to theatres this December, and also starring Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Hugh Bonneville, Jim Broadbent, the movie follows the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British who travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined - until he meets the kindly Brown family who offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist!

Adorable bear PADDINGTON comes from series of novels (sold in more than 30 million copies) by Michael Bond. The polite immigrant bear with his old hat, battered suitcase (complete with a secret

compartment, enabling it to hold more items than it would at first appear), duffle coat and love of marmalade sandwiches has become a classic character from English children's literature!

WILL HEAR 'THE VOICES'

Most of us probably hear voices in our heads from time to time, but to hear the voices of your cat and dog telling you nasty things, that is certainly a call for alarm: Lionsgate has just bought distribution rights for Ryan Reynolds' movie THE VOICES which also features Gemma Arterton and Anna Kendrick. It is a genre-bending film which centres around Jerry, a lovable but disturbed factory worker who yearns for the attention of a woman in accounting. When their relationship takes a sudden turn, we follow Jerry's perspective as his talking pets, a sinister cat and benevolent dog, lead him down a fantastical, murderous path. The movie is directed by Marjane Satrapi who was nominated for an Oscar for PERSEPOLIS.

TOPLINES NEW ABC SERIES
And here's another of the gents my ladies like: Rufus Sewell will take the lead in ABC’s Richard LaGravenese drama pilot, 'Deadline' writes. In the vein of 'Dangerous Liaisons', the untitled project is set in New York and revolves around the love and rivalry between two equally matched, powerful socialites — Philip Fitzgerald Julien (Sewell) and Margot Worth Cole — who play out their obsessive attraction and seduction of each other through their manipulation of others. You will next see Rufus in Dwayne Johnson's HERCULES THRACIAN WARS epic movie playing Autolycos the son of the messenger god Hermes.

GRACE OF MONACO

SECOND TRAILER IS HERE

You can also check out the second trailer for GRACE OF MONACO with totally miscast Nicole Kidman. Also starring Derek Jacobi and Milo Ventimiglia and directed by Olivier Dahan, the movie takes place during the early 1960s when Grace Kelly was married to Monaco’s Prince Rainier III (equally miscast Tim Roth), and during a political dispute between the principality and France. The film will play at Cannes film festival in May.

Grace Kelly met Prince Rainier at Cannes film festival in 1955. The prince was obviously charmed by

her and only a few months later he came to USA. He was in pursue of a wife since according to an old treaty Monaco reverts to France if their prince doesn't have an heir. Rainier met Kelly and her family, and after three days, he proposed. Kelly accepted and the families began preparing for what was to be THE WEDDING OF THE CENTURY! Kelly and her family had to provide Prince Rainier with a dowry of 2$ million in order for the marriage to go ahead. Grace came over to Monaco on a special eight day voyage with more than 80 pieces of luggage. In Monaco, more than 20,000 people lined the streets to greet the future princess consort. More than 35 seamstresses worked on her wedding gown for six weeks! After the wedding, Prince Rainier banned the screening of Kelly's films in Monaco.

Well, well, well... Melissa McCarthy's spy comedy SUSAN COOPER is certainly getting more interesting as the casting process goes on: first she was joined two weeks ago by Jason Statham, and now another British heartthrob has been signed too! Jude Law, together with Rose Byrne, will also star in the movie about the adventures of a top female secret agent to be played by McCarthy. Although there are no details on whom Jude and Rose will play, we know that Statham will be her colleague spy with whom she is unwillingly paired up. To hit cinemas May next year, the film will again see Paul Feig (BRIDESMAIDS, THE HEAT) directing a movie with Melissa. You can watch Jude Law this weekend in THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL movie in cinemas.

Last week I informed you that another of our beloved stars Ashley Judd will lead the cast in this story about mega-church Pastor Daniel Strickland who suddenly dies, and his loyal wife, Jennifer Strickland (Ashley Judd), must rally to keep their family together and save the church. As 'Deadline' reports, Ryan McPartlin will play Congressman Todd Bishop, an ambitious man whose political life keeps him from home, making him a bit of an absent husband and father. You will also watch McPartlin next week in cinemas with Ryan Kwanten in THE RIGHT KIND OF WRONG romantic comedy.

GETS IDRIS ELBA AS SHERE KHAN!

Meanwhile, Disney has found their first actor for the live action big screen adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's THE JUNGLE BOOK! According to 'Deadline'Idris Elba is in negotiations to lend his voice and do motion capture scenes as dangerous tiger Shere Khan! The motion capture parts will be helmed by AVATAR's Robert Legato while the whole movie is being directed by John Favreau. The movie is set for October 2015 release but Warner Bros. is also planning their own rival version of the story. As you know, the famous story follows an orphan boy Mowgli who is raised in the jungle with the help of a pack of wolves, a bear and a black panther!

We shall have a TV Monday today with lots of television updates and news, starting with our beloved Rebecca Romijn who has, according to 'The Hollywood Reporter' just joined Rob Lowe in NBC's upcoming new drama pilot THE PRO! The comedy series will be set in and around a tennis and golf club pro shop with Lowe playing Ben Bertrahm, a former doubles champion who is reunited with his ex-partner Bobby Welch (Rob Riggle) after a public feud that left them both floundering in life. Romijn will play Margot, a driven but insecure and lovable 1 percenter who is a board member at the prestigious L.A. Tennis & Golf Club, taking lessons from Ben. She lost her husband in a heli-skiing accident and though she dates, she's never gotten serious about any other man since then. Ben wouldn't mind breaking that streak. Rebecca Romijn is no stranger to TV, you've seen her in UGLY BETTY, PEPPER DENNIS and KING & MAXWELL.

JOINS CW'S 'iZOMBIE' DRAMA
Another of the gorgeous television faces we love to watch, hunky Robert Buckley has joined CW's unusual new show iZOMBIE! According to 'Deadline' it will be a supernatural crime procedural that centres on a med student turned zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. Buckley will play Major, Liz’s former fiance who is trying to make the transition to friend. Robert Buckley was brilliant in LIPSTICK JUNGLE, 666 PARK AVENUE and in ONE TREE HILL.

Deadline also reports that ABC drama pilot AGATHA has also found their two lead stars. In the show, which centres on a former convict and now a big city criminologist who is brought in to help local police crack a case involving a perplexing disappearance, Aaron Ashmore will play Jimmy McAuliffe, a handsome, good-humored and good-natured “meat and potatoes” guy who is a beat cop with the Philly PD and lives in the shadow of his father! Serbian actress Bojana Novakovic will take the lead role of AGATHA after she had starred in RAKE!

In Television updates today, Josh Duhamel has scored one of the two lead roles in CBS new show BATTLE CREEK. He will play an FBI agent who teams up with a totally different police detective, played by Dean Winters, to clean up the unsafe streets of Battle Creek, Michigan! The show comes from the creators of HOUSE and BREAKING BAD. This will see Duhamel's return to TV after NBC's LAS VEGAS.
'GATEWAY' SF NOVEL TO BE TURNED INTO SHOW
Deadline reports that cult sf novel GATEWAY from Frederik Pohl will be turned into a TV series by Entertainment One (HELL ON WHEELS) and De Laurentis Co. (DUNE). It is set in a space station constructed by a long-vanished alien race, now inhabited by humans. It centres on Rob Broadhead, who, haunted by a dark love story, has traveled on a one-way ticket from Earth for the extremely dangerous mission of piloting one of thousands of abandoned alien spacecrafts on Gateway. The technology of these alien ships is not fully understood, with most trips resulting in death. The reward for a rare successful return, however, can be untold riches, so crews continue to sign up despite the desperate odds.

One of them will join the rather unappealing cast which already includes Michael B. Yesterday brought us the very first trailer for science fiction adventure THE MAZE RUNNER which will try to find its way into cinemas this September following a boy named Thomas who wakes

up in a strange place called the Glade with no memory aside from his first name. The Glade is an enclosed structure populated by other boys, and is surrounded by tall, stone walls that protect them from monsters called Grievers that live in the Maze, which surrounds the walls around the Glade. Every day, some of the kids who are Runners venture into the labyrinth trying to map the ever changing pattern of walls in an attempt to find an exit. As soon as Thomas arrives, unusual things begin to happen and the others grow suspicious of him. The Maze seems familiar to Thomas, but he's unable to make sense of the place despite his extraordinary abilities
