IN 'CAROL'

I can't say I liked their previous work together (I'M NOT THERE is still officially the most monotonous and self- observed movie I have ever watched) but Cate Blanchett and director Todd Haynes will work together again: Blanchett and Mia Wasikowska will star in CAROL, a movie adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel THE PRICE OF SALT. It's a love story about pursuit, betrayal and passion that follows the burgeoning relationship between two very different women in 1950s New York. One, a girl in her twenties working in a department store who dreams of a more fulfilling life, and the other, a wife trapped in a loveless,

moneyed marriage desperate to break free but fearful of losing her daughter in the process. According to "Deadline" the filming should start this Autumn!

IS OLIVER WALKER LEAD IN

BBC 'ATLANTIS' EPIC SHOW?

Ever since BBC has revealed their cast for the new fantasy show ATLANTIS, which will take over the primetime spot from MERLIN this Autumn, I've been puzzled as to who will play the lead role since BBC has been very mysterious not giving us any detail on the characters. It was recently announced that young British actor Oliver Walker has joined the already announced cast which includes Mark Addy (Game of Thrones, probably playing Hercules), Juliet Stevenson (White Heat), Sarah Parish (Mistresses), Jemima Rooper (Lost In Austen, to play Medusa), Aiysha Hart (to play Ariadne), Jack Donnelly (Dancing On The Edge) and Robert Emms (War Horse, he will play Pythagoras, Greek philosopher and mathematician), Ciaran Griffiths (from

SHAMELESS, to play a Greek archaeologist). I wonder if Oliver Walker is actually the lead actor who will play young Jason who arrives to the city of ATLANTIS: a mysterious ancient place; a world of bull leaping, of snake haired goddesses and of palaces so vast it was said they were built by giants. Maybe that is why they kept his name a secret before? He certainly has the looks for the role! Jack Donnelly (MISFITS, DANCING ON THE EDGE) could also be the hidden lead and he was in the cast from the start! The shooting has already started earlier this April for one of the most expensive BBC productions to date!

DELIGHTFUL COMEDY TRAILER

Our trailer for today comes from France: it is the first, and a delightful, one for French comedy HAUTE CUISINE which will be released in US cinemas August 16th! Hortense Laborie (Catherine Frot), a renowned chef from Perigord, is astonished when the President of the Republic (Jean d'Ormesson) appoints her his personal cook, responsible for creating all his meals at the Elysée Palace. Despite jealous resentment from the other kitchen staff, Hortense quickly establishes herself, thanks to her indomitable spirit. The authenticity of her cooking soon seduces the President, but the corridors of power are littered with traps. The comedy is based on the extraordinary true story of President François Mitterand's private cook!

GUARDIANS OF GALAXY

A movie cast which has both Glenn Close and a wrestling star? No, I'm not joking - it just happened in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY in which Glenn will play the head of the Nova Corps intergalactic space patrol! The film, which will follow a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants, will focus on the team of intergalactic peacekeepers lead by Star Lord or Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt, who is joined by Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Lee Pace as the main villain The Collector and Ophelia Lovibond as one of The Collector's henchmen! The superhero adventure should hint cinemas August next year!

GETS HER OWN FILM!

Glorious news, people, simply glorious! Everybody's favourite cat these days, the worldwide famous GRUMPY CAT, whose Facebook shrine has more than one million worshippers, is getting her own live action film which would see her becoming the female version of Garfield! The cranky faced cat, whose real name is Tardar Sauce, and who has about as much facial expressions as KStew from TWILIGHT, will even get the power of speech in the movie! Beside being one of the most influential cats in the world, the frowning feline has also been a guest at almost all big shows and is making millions of people happy everyday with her daily memes at Facebook and Tweeter. She is sponsored by Friskies and has her own merchandise!

PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS

The only trailer I have for you today is the second one for epic sequel PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS which comes to theatres this August starring Logan Lerman, Nathan Fillion as Hermes, Alexandra Daddario, Stanley Tucci and others. This time, our hero Percy, the son of Greek God Poseidon, together with his friends, heads into the Sea of Monsters to find the mythical Golden Fleece in order to restore the dying safe haven for demigods and mythical creatures! MAJORING IN SCARING!

Disney Pixar is ready to release the new adventures of the crazy animated monsters June 21st! Sequel or to be more precise - a prequel to 2001 huge animated blockbuster MONSTER INC since it is set about 10 years before the events of the original film: serious yet intelligent 17-year-old Michael "Mike" Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) is extremely eager to start college, where he is majoring in scaring. Things don't go quite as planned, though, when 18-year-old James P. "Sulley" Sullivan (voiced by John Goodman) happens to be in the same fraternity as him. Sulley shows

to be almost the exact opposite of Mike: playful, all-brawn, and most notably large. He is also majoring in scaring, however, and they soon become enemies in a rivalry that will tear their worlds apart, including going to jail, but ultimately brings them together!

DESPICABLE ME 2

VILLAINS AND MINIONS

A month later we shall watch the sequel to 2010 animated hit DESPICABLE ME which unexpectedly earned around half billion dollars around the world! In DESPICABLE ME 2 Gru (Steve Carell) is no longer a villain, since saving his three adopted daughters Margo, Edith, and Agnes from Vector in the first film. But his calm and unexciting new life takes an unexpected turn when he is recruited by Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig) and Silas Ramsbottom (Steve Coogan) and is taken to the headquarters of the Anti-Villain League, a society dedicated to fighting crime on a global scale. There he discovers that there is a new villain called Eduardo (Benjamin Bratt) on the loose and because Gru was

once a villain himself and knows how they think, Silas (who is the League's head), wants Gru to help them fight Eduardo. With the help of Gru's assistant, Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand), his minions, Margo, Edith, and Agnes, Gru must save the world (again).

DESPICABLE FACTS Since they were so adorable in both movies, Gru's delightful little minions will get their own MINIONS spin off in December 2014 which will be focusing mainly on Gru's yellow henchmen before they have met. In it they will compete for the right to become henchmen of an ambitious villain, Scarlet Overkill, voiced by Sandra Bullock!

MILLA JOVOVICH JOINS

SLY, STATHAM, CHAN, CAGE IN EXPENDABLES 3 ACTION

You know there's a joke which says: Where do all the fallen action stars go? To Expendables movies! After the first two films which, surprisingly or not, earned quite a lot of money around the world, EXPENDABLES 3 will start shooting sometime this year with the cast which just added Milla Jovovich to the predominantly male group which already includes Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Nicolas Cage, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke... The leader and the brain of this action franchise which gathers together all the biggest of forgotten action stars of the previous decades, Sylvester Stallone has his mind set on giving

the villain role to Nicolas Cage. Milla also has RESIDENT EVIL 6, another seemingly endless franchise, scheduled for next year, and also a role in THE WINTER QUEEN in which she plays Lady Amalia!

Continuing the action day here at HOLLYWOOD SPY, here's the first trailer for Hugh Jackman's new movie PRISONERS! Opening in cinemas this September it follows Keller Dover (Jackman) who is facing every

parent’s worst nightmare. His six-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend, Joy, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect’s release. Knowing his child’s life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, he may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante? Maria Bello, Melissa Leo, Terrence Howard, and Oscar nominee Viola Davis are also in the cast.

which we can't wait to watch next year too in the second season (hopefully with more than eight episodes)!

DA VINCI'S DEMONS COSTUMES

EVERYTHING YOU'VE NEVER IMAGINED

Today at HOLLYWOOD SPY we shall spotlight the magnificent costumes seen in DA VINCI'S DEMONS. They are the work of costume designer Annie Symons who actually asked David S. Goyer for the job herself when she heard it will be set in the picturesque period of 15th century Renaissance!

Since the whole show isn't a typical historical one having for the lead hero a man who was ahead of his time (and ours most probably), the painter, inventor, expert on plants and human body, engineer and weapons master, and at the same time ancient Indiana Jones, a sexy and super cocky charmer, the costumes aren't typical either. Together with the plot of the show which reinvents the past in a new way, the costumes in the series do the same.

MODERN DESIGN INSPIRED

This is why you can see the original rich vibrant Renaissance colours in costumes, but at the same time you can see they are inspired by modern designers. Annie Symons has revealed herself that gowns worn by Medici's wife Clarice (Lara Pulver) were inspired by modern couturiers like Dior, that Guiliano Medici (Tom Bateman) has sexy dandy costumes inspired by Versace, while understated Armani elegance is reserved for Count Riario (Blake Ritson).

DA VINCI AS A ROCK STAR
Leo (Tom Riley) is dressed more like a modern rock star with lots of bare chested leather jackets and trousers with mysterious symbols on his clothes! With muscular pecs showing through their shirts and scruffy hairdos, the rest of the male cast also radiates with sexy energy too, while ladies are refined, but deeply seductive and not afraid of strong fashion statements (Clarice wearing gowns with giants bows at the ball, Lucrezia wearing feathered gowns - because her character is like a trapped, caged bird of heaven etc).

VLAD DRACUL'S STYLE

Supporting characters also have space to shine: probably the best episode in the season was the one with Vlad Dracul, who didn't wear cartoonish cape and fangs, but had face covered with veins with a red leather cape embellished with Turkish coins.

THE OLDEST EVER JAMES BOND GIRL

One of the hottest pieces of news at the beginning of this week was an info on Penelope Cruz taking a Bond girl role in the next JAMES BOND movie which will most probably again be directed by Sam Mendes who scored huge success with SKYFALL. It's interesting that Penelope is married to and has recently had a baby with Javier Bardem who played the villain in SKYFALL. The 24th film on agent 007 should start shooting next year which will give Penelope enough time to get in shape after her pregnancy. If she signs the contract she will be the oldest Bond girl in history being 40 years old. Pussy Gallore was the oldest so far with her 39 years of age.

IN 'ANOMALY' SF FILM
Digital Spy reports that ladies' favourite TV hunk Ian Somerhalder from VAMPIRE DIARIES has taken a role in science fiction movie ANOMALY! Written by Noel Clarke (STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS), who will also star in the film and direct it, the movie will revolve around a traumatised ex-soldier (Hemsworth) who wakes up in a van to find that he has only nine minutes and 37 seconds of consciousness to work out how he got there. The soldier will be played by Luke Hemsworth, the oldest brother of Chris and Liam, who is best known for his work in NEIGHBOURS soap.

STARZ OFFICIALLY ORDERS

'OUTLANDER' EPIC SERIES

Good news people, we're getting a new epic show! Starz has officially ordered 16 episodes of OUTLANDER! Produced by BATTLESTAR GALACTICA's Ronald Moore, the show will be a television adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's seven book saga. Sold in over 20 million copies around the world, the fantasy saga follows British Army nurse Claire Randall as she is transported back in time from 1945 to 18th century Scotland, embarking on an epic romance with Scots warrior Jamie! The production begins this October in Scotland which means we can expect casting news in upcoming months!

FOR CW'S 'REIGN' EPIC SHOW

You can also check out the new, long, trailer for CW's new historical show REIGN which will hit the small screens this Autumn on Thursdays.

The trailer is confusing since the show looks extremely cheap at some moments and then luxurious and rich in others, with costumes that look mostly bad and with strange casting choices (the lead actress Adelaide Kane looks too modern teeny for this kind of genre), but we shall give it a benefit of the doubt. As you can read in HOLLYWOOD SPY's extensive spotlight on the show, the story will follow the teen days of Mary Queen of Scots when she arrives to French court where she falls into the world of intrigues surrounding

the king, the queen (Megan Follows), the lords and their mistresses, and two young princes Francis ( Toby Regbo) and Sebastian (Torrance Coombs)!

HELEN MIRREN TAKES

THE HUNDRED FOOT JOURNEY

You know how I love nothing more than movies with cooking in them! According to "Deadline" Helen Mirren is negotiating to take the lead role in THE HUNDRED FOOT JOURNEY which will be a big screen adaptation of a novel by Richard C. Morais. Even better piece of news is that outstanding director Lasse Hallstrom (CHOCOLAT, SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN) is helming the film which, set in France, revolves around the rivalry between a three star Michelin restaurant and a nearby Indian eatery. There are rumours that Mirren might take the role of the high-class restaurant's chef Madame Mallory, who forms a mentoring bond with the son of the family of her enemies. Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey are producing.

JUSTIN THEROUX IN

THE LEFTOVERS SF SHOW

In new shows coming this Autumn to TV we also have a new one from Damon Lindelof and HBO! Titled THE LEFTOVERS, according to "Deadline" it will have Justin Theroux in the lead role! The project takes place after the Rapture happens but not quite like it’s supposed to. It is the story of the people who didn’t make the cut… and a world that will never be the same. Theroux will play chief of police Kevin Garvey, a father of two who is trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy in a world that is starting to completely reject that notion.

He's one of the most despised people from epic fantasy shows since in GAME OF THRONES he plays the evil Jaime Lannister who is capable of pushing a kid through a window, but privately I'm sure Nikolaj Coster Waldau is a nice chap. And he has a new gig. He is apparently in negotiations to take the lead role in epic adventure GODS OF EGYPT to be directed by Alex Proyas. In the science fiction film based on mythology Nikolaj would play the god Horus, who joins up with the goddess Hathor and a human thief in order to avenge the death of his father Osiris. The script is being written by the same people who are doing Luke Evans' DRACULA for Universal. We've recently seen Nikolaj in OBLIVION next to Tom

Cruise and he is currently shooting THE OTHER WOMAN in which Cameron Diaz realizes she is not her boyfriend's primary lover and teams up with his wife (Leslie Mann) to plot mutual revenge!

' FABLES' COMIC

MOVIE ADAPTATION

Hollywood Reporter writes that the movie adaptation of Vertigo's comic book FABLES has found its director: Nikolaj Arcer (that's a popular name today :), who directed Danish historical drama ROYAL AFFAIR will helm the picture to be produced by HARRY PLOPPERS David Heyman. The story centres on fairy and folk tale characters ranging from Snow White and Cinderella, Prince Charming, Beaut and the Beast, to the Big Bad Wolf and Little Boy Blue, who are kicked out of their world and now live in a secret pocket of New York City. There were previous attempts to make a film and even a TV show out of this material.

Today you can also check out the first, rather stunning, picture of Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in new BBC drama BURTON AND TAYLOR! The 90 minute drama, which will also air at BBC America, focuses on the

volatile ex-couple's ill-fated appearance in a 1983 revival of Noel Coward's Private Lives. They were married and divorced twice. I'm rather surprised with how Helena looks identical to Liz! I never would've imagine it!

ROBERT DE NIRO, MICHELLE PFEIFFER, DIANA AGRON

Your trailer for today is from new action drama THE FAMILY in which Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Diana Agron play a mobster family. Directed by Luc Besson and produced by Martin Scorcese the film will see De Niro playing a mobster who joins witness protection programme after his mafia turns on him and is relocated to Normandy, France, where he and his wife and daughter find it difficult to give up their corrupt ways and lay low. John D'Leo plays the son of the family, Tommy Lee Jones is also in the cast in the film inspired by Tonino Benacquista's novel "Malavita". The film is out this September! I can't say I like the overly violent trailer.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE TO LEARN

THE RULES OF INHERITANCE

Deadline reports that young star (she's nice but I still don't know why she got that Oscar this year?) Jennifer Lawrence, who is currently shooting X MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, will take the lead in THE RULES OF INHERITANCE. The film is based on Claire Bidwell Smith's memoir. As an only child, she lost both of her parents to cancer over seven years, while she was a young adult. The book chronicles the many adventures and romances she embarks on, in an effort to cope with her loss, while finding out who she really is in the process. The film will be directed by Susanne Bier who recently already directed Jennifer in SERENA in which she played with Bradley Cooper for the second time after THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK!

THE LITTLE PRINCE

GETS ANIMATED VERSION

Another animated film is getting quite a stellar voice cast. The animated movie adaptation of Antoine de Saint Exupery's classic children's novella THE LITTLE PRINCE will have James Franco, Marion Cotillard, Benicio Del Toro, Jeff Bridges and Paul Giamatti lending their voices to the main characters. One of the most popular books in history, translated into almost all known languages, brings a philosophical tale of a pilot stranded in the desert, where he encounters a young prince who has fallen from an asteroid. Mark Osborne, who did KUNG FU PANDA, will direct the movie!

In this week's television updates on the new projects coming to TV this Autumn, you can first check out the first character posters for Stephen King's new science fiction series UNDER THE DOME! The show, which has already been sold to more than 100 foreign networks which will make it a worldwide summer television event, starts airing its 13 episodes Monday June 24th at CBS! Set in the not too distant future, UNDER THE DOME tells the story of the residents of the small town of Chester's Mill, Maine, who suddenly find themselves cut off from the rest of the

world by a mysterious, impenetrable barrier that unexpectedly falls down from nowhere surrounding the town. As the town begins to tear itself apart through panic, a small group of people attempt to maintain peace and order while also trying to uncover the truth behind the barrier and how to escape from it. Faced with the new situation, the people of

Chester's Mill will first experience faith, then fear and then fascism since everything will go wrong under the dome and they will need an iron fist to bring them order! The cast includes Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lavefre and Jeff Fahey!

RESURRECTION SF SHOW

WHAT IF YOUR DEAD ONES CAME BACK UNANNOUNCED?

Over at ABC they have released the first trailer for their new Autumn show RESURRECTION. The people of Arcadia, Missouri are forever changed when their deceased loved ones suddenly start to return. An 8-year-old American boy (Landon Gimenez) wakes up alone in a rice paddy in a rural Chinese province with no idea how he got there.

Details start to emerge when the boy, who calls himself Jacob, recalls that his hometown is Arcadia, and an Immigration agent, Martin Bellamy (Omar Epps), takes him there. The home he claims as his own is occupied by an elderly couple, Harold (Kurtwood Smith) and Lucille Garland (Frances Fisher), who lost their son Jacob more than 30 years ago. While they look different, young Jacob recognizes them as

his parents. Those closest to the family try to unravel this impossible mystery, including Sheriff Fred Garland (Matt Craven), whose wife Barbara drowned 30 years ago while trying to save Jacob. But this boy who claims to be the deceased Jacob knows secrets about his own death that no one else knows — secrets that Fred’s daughter, Gail (Devin Kelly), will begin to investigate and discover to be true!

Continuing our highly popular series of royal reports from the weddings of crowned heads around Europe, after London, Monaco, Jordan, Luxembourg and the royal Dutch crowning, we move up North to Sweden where earlier this weekend a lavish wedding of the nation's beloved princess Madeleine was held. The younger sister of Swedish Crown Princess Victoria got married to New York banker Christopher O'Neill, following her sister's footsteps who, few years ago, chose to marry a fitness instructor and not a prince of blue blood.

FILLED WITH EMOTIONS

It was quite an emotional wedding this wedding in Swedish capitol Stockholm, since both the bride (30) and the groom (38) were fighting back the tears in their eyes when stunning princess Madeleine (she is considered one of the most beautiful princesses in the world, although I must admit I myself loved her much better while she had golden hair) walked down the aisle with her father Swedish king Carl XVI Gustav to the sound of a children choir who sang the wedding march. After the ceremony they kissed at the stairs of the royal Drottningholm palace in front of thousands of people in the cheering crowd and almost 500 royal guests from around the world.

For her royal wedding dress, Madeleine has opted for a luxurious silk organza and lace pure white gown from famous Italian designer Valentino (if you ask me he is never good in this royal business since he tends to dress the future queens and princesses in overly old fashioned dresses) with a four meter long trail!

The extremely stylish princess Madeleine, who always attracted looks with her enchanting beauty and her merry behaviour, is the youngest daughter of Swedish king and queen and fourth in line to the throne. Because of her extravagant behaviour, the people in Sweden themselves have always preferred her older and calmer sister Victoria, the future queen of Sweden! After breaking her engagement to her previous boyfriend, Madeleine fled to New York where she met O'Neill, who isn't from a royal family but does come from a very rich one. Since he has both British and American citizenship he has refused the Swedish one, along with any title, and he and Madeleine will live over in Manhattan.

As you can see from the pictures, the event had a smaller number of royal family members than some other weddings we've seen but most of the princes and princesses have appeared in outfits more glamorous and modern than we've seen at other recent royal events. Crown princess Victoria was particularly stunning in her greyish beige gown with a red carpet trail and her baby, little princess Estelle, in her arms. Princess Charlene of Monaco was also lovely, and so was the delightful princess Stephanie whose wedding to charming prince Guillaime of Luxembourg we still remember fondly. QUICKSILVER IN AVENGERS 2?

I've only recently informed you that young Evan Peters will play Quicksilver in X MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and now there are rumours that Aaron Johnson might play the same character in AVENGERS 2. Quicksilver, who has the power of superspeed, and his sister Scarlet Witch (role meant for Saoirse Ronan in AVENGERS) are kids of Magneto and they legally belong to X MEN franchise, but AVENGERS want them too. Chris Hemsworth is expected to return as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo as Hul) and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury! Aaron Johnson is currently shooting the remake of GODZILLA! He already played a superhero (sort of) in KICKASS!

LEONARDO DICAPRIO

IS RASPUTIN!
I do like the idea for the film but definitely don't like the casting choice, but who asks me about anything in Hollywood? According to "Deadline"

Leonardo DiCaprio and Warner Bros. are preparing a new historical film on infamous RASPUTIN in which DiCapriccioso would play the creepy man. The story will revolve around the mystical Russian who was embraced by the Imperial Family as a medical adviser for their haemophiliac son Tsarevich Alexei. Rasputin continued to gain considerable influence on tzar Nikolay and his wife, so much so that the family's rivals tried to kill Rasputin several times before his eventual death in 1916. He was also a sexually very intriguing man and one of the Russian museums still keeps his penis in a jar. Let us pray that the role of the Russian empress doesn't go to some tweeny instant-star such as Jennifer Lawrence, Mia Wasikowska or Carrey Muligan.

What shall we see in the adventures of our heroes in THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG? They will visit the house of the shape-shifting bear Beorn (Mikael Persbrandt) who lives with his

animal retinue and who doesn't like Hobbits but also hates goblins, so Gandalf killing the Great Goblin King will impress him and he will help Thorin (Richard Armitage) and Bilbo to prepare for their journey.

MIRKWOOD COURT OF ELVEN KING THRANDUIL

They will also end up in the Mirkwood Forests filled with wonders, mysteries, enchanted streams, spiders and wood elves! Here we shall also see the wondrous Mirkwood palace of Thranduil the Elven king played by Lee Pace. Since Thorin's group will be imprisoned by

the Elven king we shall also see, for the very first time, Tauriel, gorgeous Elven archer and the member of the Royal Guard, played by Evangeline Lilly. She will be using twin blades! They are supposed to

run away from Thranduil's palace hidden in barrels! Thranduil's son Legolas (Orlando Bloom, who is, in real life, actually two years older than Lee Pace) is also supposed to appear in the film in some kind of a battle scene.

BARD THE BOWMAN

After escaping the Elven court (using Thranduil's butler Galion's fondness for drink) Thorin, Bilbo and the rest of the dwarves will end up in Laketown, the city of humans, where we shall meet for the first time Bard the Bowman played by Luke Evans, one of the people of

the pompous Master of Laketown played by Stephen Fry. Bard will give the company a boat ride to LakeTown! Bard will be an enigmatic, Robin Hood-esque figure, Middle-earth's finest when it comes to arrow-skills! He is the heir of Girion, the last king of old Dale. He defends the

town when the dragon comes, and slays the dragon himself. In the last film he will lead the Men of Esgaroth at the Battle of Five Armies and will be crowned king of the re-founded Dale. He also has a little son Bain!

GANDALF & RADAGAST

Gandalf will venture into the tombs within the High Fells, trying to exhume the blade of the Witch-King of Angmar! He is supposed to meet with delightful Radagast the Brown there played by Sylvester McCoy!

EVIL DRAGON SMAUG

In the end they will reach the Lonely Mountain and the ancient Dwarf city of Erebor where Bilbo will bathe in the sea of gold before the

huge talking gold hoarding fire breathing dragon Smaug appears voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch!

The latest one to join Kenneth Branagh's and Disney's live action movie version of CINDERELLA is gorgeous Holliday Grainger from THE BORGIAS! Colour me shocked, but instead playing the title role (doesn't she have a flawless face for it?) she will play one of the evil stepsisters! The role of CINDERELLA has already gone to Lily James, a relatively unknown British actress. The rest of the cast is glorious including Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother and GAME OF THRONES superstar and the king of North Richard Maddenwho will play the prince. DOWNTON ABBEY star Sophie McShera is in talks to play the other evil sister. Holliday is currently without a job since THE BORGIAS have finally been cancelled earlier this month. She is no stranger to ball gowns since she starred in recent ANNA KARENINA, in JANE EYRE and GREAT EXPECTATIONS. It's interesting to add that Joe Wright who directed Grainger in ANNA KARENINA is preparing a movie adaptation of another fairy tale - THE LITTLE MERMAID!

a female cop and prisoner who go on the run together in Texas, trying to outrun a group of corrupt police officers. It is interesting that Universal Pictures has spent quite a lot of money on the script for this movie.

Yet another new epic mini series await us over at Sky1 in their new project MOONFLEET! The two part mini series will be a television adaptation of John Meade Falkner's book which follows 18th century smugglers! Ray Winstone will portray Elzevir Block, the head of a group of smugglers in 18th century Dorset, England. He recruits Aneurin Barnard (THE WHITE QUEEN, IRONCLAD) as a young newcomer to the smuggling crew as they embark on the hunt for a lost diamond filled with action, humour and friendship. To be shot in Dublin this summer, the series will also have Omid Djalili from GLADIATOR playing diamond merchant Aldobrand and British star Ben Chaplin playing the town's anti-smuggling Magistrate.

VIDEO GAMES ADAPTATIONS

ASSASSINS CREED, SPLINTER CELL AND GHOST RECON
If you're into movie adaptations of famous video games here are a few updates. First, Frank Marshall (WAR HORSE) will produce the movie adaptation of ASSASSINS CREED movie version in which Michael Fassbender will play a hunter on legendary artefacts who uses a device which gives him the memories and skills of all of his ancestors. Other Ubisoft's game SPLINTER CELL will have Basil Iwanyk (WRATH OF THE TITANS) as the producer with Tom Hardy playing an agent of an elite division Echelon who eliminates threats around the world. Meanwhile Michael Bay will produce GHOST RECON adaptation. That one has pretty much the same plot as SPLINTER CELL - special forces cleaning up the world from terrorists (or at least the government says so if you're naive enough to believe it).

DIANA TRAILER

In the trailer department today check out the first teaser for upcoming new drama DIANA which follows a part of late Princess Diana's life. She was an icon to some and a nightmare for the British royal family who couldn't fight against Diana's manipulations with her image in media. Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, and starring Naomi Watts the film depicts a secret affair that Princess Diana had shortly before her tragic death. Naveen Andrews appears as Dr. Hasnat Khan, the Pakistani heart surgeon Diana dated before meeting Dodi Fayed. The film is out in UK this September.

WILL "STRETCH" A BIT

One of HOLLYWOOD SPY's favourite male actors Patrick Wilson has just boarded STRETCH. The story of this action comedy follows a downtrodden man (Patrick Wilson) who becomes the limo driver for an eccentric billionaire. Little does he know that his boss is about to make his life a living hell. Ed Helms will play limo driver's colleague. Although he is an outstanding drama actor, Patrick Wilson will be seen mostly in horrors this year - in THE CONJURING with Vera Farmiga and in INSIDIOUS 2 next to Rose Byrne! Next year he will be a husband of a bipolar and compulsive woman played by Katherine Heigl in NORTH OF HELL.

EDDIE REDMAYNE IS

STEPHEN HAWKING IN THEORY OF EVERYTHING
Yet another of HOLLYWOOD SPY's absolutely favourite actors, LES MISERABLES, BIRDSONG and THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH star Eddie Redmayne, could get another new gig too: Deadline reports that he might take the role of famous genius Stephen Hawking in THEORY OF EVERYTHING. The movie will mostly focus on on the relationship between the famous physicist Hawking and his wife! Eddie is currently filming science fiction epic JUPITER ASCENDING for Wachovsky siblings in which the story is set in a future where humans are considered the lowest form of life in the galaxy. Channing Tatum stars as an intergalactic bounty hunter who is sent by the Queen of the Universe to kill an Earth woman (Mila Kunis) whose genetic traits are identical to the Queen's!

SANDRA BULLOCK IS

MISS HANNIGAN IN "ANNIE" REMAKE

Well, this is certainly entertaining: Sandra Bullock is in talks to take a role in the new remake of famous musical ANNIE! Believe it or not, Sandy will play naughty Miss Hannigan, the infamous cranky lady who runs and terrorizes the orphanage that Annie (Quvenzhané Wallis) stays in before being taken in by Daddy Warbucks (Jamie Foxx). We all remember Carol Burnett's famous portrayal of the character in the 80's original film. Sandra Bullock is busy this year: she first has the premier of hilarious comedy THE HEAT in which she and Melissa McCarthy play two totally different cops, and then she will play an astronaut stuck in space in GRAVITY next to George Clooney.

THIRD PART OF

RIDDICK SAGA

The latest chapter of the ground breaking galaxy saga which started back in 2000 with sci-fi film PITCH BLACK and continued in 2004 with the visually mindblowing space opera THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, is ready to premiere September 6th. Titled simply RIDDICK, with a subtitle RULE THE DARK, it reunites David Twohy (who wrote and directed previous two movies too) and action superstar Vin Diesel. Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous escaped convict who can see in the dark and is wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.

THE STORY OF RIDDICK

The infamous RIDDICK has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. KARL URBAN AND KERI HILSON
Beside Vin Diesel who again takes the role of RIDDICK that made him famous, Karl Urban also returns to the franchise portraying powerful Lord Vaako! Katee Sackhoff (from BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, who has her first nude scene in the film playing one of the mercenaries), Dave Bautista and Jordi Mola (who takes the role of the main villain) are also in the cast alongside r'n'b diva Keri Hilson who plays Shirah in the film - methinks it might be here that runs through a desert in the end of the trailer below.
The film was shot on a relatively low budget of about $38 million. Previous two films earned around $160 million worldwide becoming cult sf hits in years to come. One of the locations used for the shooting was the White Desert in Farafra, Egypt. The film will be more dark like the first one was and less spectacular like the second one.

SNOW PIERCER

FUTU- RISTIC ICE AGE

The summer has started and so has the tropical heat so while your little bums are melting away maybe you will soothe yourself by imagining polar regions covered with snow, bound with frost and surrounded with the sound of blizzards? Well, that is pretty much the setting of upcoming new science fiction action movie SNOWPIERCER in which people, in not so distant future in year 2031, live on a perpetually moving train because

the humanity has destroyed Earth's climate and the weather has become too harsh to survive when outside.

SOCIAL CLASSES IN A PERPE- TUALLY MOVING TRAIN

The film is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an ice age has killed off nearly all life on the planet. The only survivors are the inhabitants of the SNOWPIERCER, a massive train that travels around the planet and is powered by a perpetual-motion engine. Over time a class system evolves on the train, with the elites inhabiting the 'front' of the train and poor inhabiting the 'back' of the train. Tired of

the poor conditions suffered by riders in the 'back', a revolution occurs with the riders attempting to seize control of the engine which the elites in the 'front' consider 'sacred'. As you can see, beside being science fiction apocalyptic action, SNOWPIERCER also brings a political story

depicting a system in which the rich have everything, and more than they need, while the poor have absolutely nothing (sounds familiar, hm?).

nominees Octavia Spencer, Ed Harris, Tilda Swinton and John Hurt, to young heartthrobs and stars Jamie Bell and Luke Pasqualino. The film was directed by Bong Joon-ho and this marks his first movie in English after directing famous South Korean films THE HOST and MOTHER.

COMIC BOOK ADAPTATION

The movie is actually a film adaptation of the French graphic novel "Le Transperceneige" by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette. Joon-ho found the novel while visiting a comic book shop in Seoul and

finished reading the entire series while standing in front of the bookshelf, where he found it. He was fascinated by ideas of people struggling on the train for survival, with every cabin classified in social

stratification. The $40 million movie will start its cinematic life from August in Korea and will then start its tour around the world with The Weinstein Company distributing in USA.

LIAM HEMSWORTH IN

CUT BANK & ARABIAN NIGHTS

The youngest member of the Hemsworth family, and the youngest brother of Chris the Thor, Liam Hemsworth has two new gigs: he will join CUT BANK a crime thriller in which he will play a man who dreams of leaving his hometown of Cut Bank, Montana. His attempt to leave triggers a deadly series of events that change the town and his life forever. The film will be quite star studded since the cast also has John Malkovich, Ben Kingsley, Michael Sheen and Teresa Palmer. Two years ago I also informed you that Liam is set to star with Anthony Hopkins in ARABIAN NIGHTS epic adventure. The production has been greenlit by Chinese authorities and the American Chinese project will start shooting this August. The $70 million movie will be a visually stunning 3D retelling of the classic adventure tale about a bold, young commander who joins forces with Sinbad, Aladdin and his Genie to rescue Scheherazade and save her kingdom from the dark powers of an immortal sorcerer.

MELISSA MCCARTHY IN

BUREAU OF OTHERWORLDY OPERATIONS

Meanwhile, Melissa McCarthy has joined the voice cast of animated film B.O.O. Bureau of Otherwordly Operations which will focus on a secret government agency which protects humans from evil ghosts and the various hauntings they carry out in the name of their supernatural overlord. Melisca McCarthy and Seth Rogen will play two agents new to the agency, both recently deceased individuals who stumble upon a plot put forth by the most wanted Haunter, which will bring about the destruction of B.O.O. They will have to stop a ghost army from consuming America before it moves onto the rest of the world.

TOM RILEY JOINS

MICHELLE WILLIAMS IN SUITE FRANCAISE WW2 DRAMA

The latest one to join the already starry cast of World War II drama SUITE FRANCAISE is young Sam Riley. As "Deadline" reports Riley is going to play the role of French soldier Benoit in the film which will be based on Irene Nemirovsky’s bestselling novel about a young woman in Nazi occupied France who ends up falling in love with a German officer. Michelle Williams is taking the lead role, Matthias Schoenaerts is the German soldier and Kristin Scott Thomas is also in the cast of the Saul Dibb (THE DUCHESS) directed drama. We shall also watch Sam Riley next to Angelina Jolie in MALEFICENT fantasy tale.

JENNIFER LOPEZ JOINS

ANTONIO BANDERAS & RODRIGO SANTORO IN "THE 33" CHILEAN MINERS DRAMA

It seems that the upcoming movie on the tragedy of Chilean miners who were trapped underground for months a few years ago is gathering all of the top Latino stars for its cast. After Antonio Banderas and Rodrigo Santoro have joined the film in the lead roles, Jennifer Lopez has signed the deal too! THE 33 will follow the true story of the 33 Chilean miners who were rescued after being trapped a mile beneath the Earth's surface for 69 days back in 2010. According to "THR" Antonio Banderas will play the role of Mario Sepulveda, the charismatic miner nicknamed “Super Mario” while Martin Sheen will play a miner’s father, with Rodrigo Santoro appearing in the role of a trapped miner.

CHEERS & SEINFELD STARS

TOGETHER IN NEW KIRSTIE ALLEY COMEDY SHOW

And here's something interesting: TV Land's upcoming new sitcom KIRSTIE is looking to reunite tones of legendary television comedians: from Kirstie Alley in the lead role to Rea Perlman and George Wendt from CHEERS, to Michael Richards and Jason Alexander from SEINFELD. Kirstie Alley will play Madison Banks, a Broadway star who finds her life turned upside down when her son (Eric Petersen) suddenly appears, looking to reconnect with his biological mother after his adopted mom dies. Rhea Perlman plays Madison's trusted assistant and best friend, while Michael Richards portrays Alley's eccentric driver. George Wendt will play Thelma's (Perlman) ex-husband, while Jason Alexander is Madison's Broadway manager.
