FIRST TRAILER IS RELEASED!

The only thing I have for you today is the first teaser trailer that Disney has released for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES! The fifth movie in the adventure saga is to set sail May 26th next year with Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush and Orlando Bloom returning to their roles, with the addition of Brenton Thwaites and Javier Bardem!

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES will follow Captain Jack Sparrow once again in a tough spot when he encounters deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem). The ghosts and Salazar

have escaped from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea, including Jack. Sparrow's only hope of survival lies in seeking

out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artefact that will give its possessor total control over the seas. Geoffrey Rush returns as one legged pirate Barbossa, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner after being absent from previous instalments, Kevin McNally is Joshamee Gibbs

and Stephen Graham is Scrum, David Wenham is Scarfield. Kaya Scodelario takes the female lead as an astronomer. Paul McCartney will have a cameo in the movie as well.

BBC WW2 JIM STURGESS DRAMA

Another period set drama coming from BBC and Acorn TV in USA, ready to air later this year is CLOSE TO THE ENEMY! Seven part series will star Jim Sturgess, Alfie Allen, Alfred Molina, Angela Bassett and Freddie Highmore in a story set in a bombed London hotel in the aftermath of WWII following intelligence officer Captain Callum Ferguson (Sturgess) whose last task for the Army is to ensure that a captured German scientist, Dieter urgently starts working for

the British RAF to develop the jet engine. Callum uses unorthodox methods in his attempt to convince Dieter and the two form a friendship. But tensions soon arise, as all is not as it seems.

TESLA IN 'THE CURRENT WAR'

Lovely news coming from 'The Wrap' today: charming young Brit Nicholas Hoult will apparently take the role of legendary Serbian genius and scientist Nikola Tesla in THE CURRENT WAR a movie about Thomas Edison played by Benedict Cumberbatch.

THE CURRENT WAR takes place in the late 1880s and revolves around power titans Edison and George Westinghouse’s (Michael Shannon) battle over the supply of electricity. Edison championed the use of a direct current for electric power distribution over an alternating current, which was backed by several European companies and Westinghouse Electric. Although a great scientist, Edison was not a good man, and Tesla, as an honourable and hard working man, later on opposed him often after being mistreated many times by jealous Edison.

'KRYPTON' SF SERIES

CAMERON CUFFE TO PLAY SUPERMAN'S GRANDFATHER
In TV news today, the lead actor has been found for SyFy's sf series KRYPTON: young Cameron Cuffe

will play Superman's grandfather in the series set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet. As 'Deadline' reports, it follows Superman’s grandfather Seg-El, whose House of El was ostracised and shamed, as he fights to redeem his family’s honour and save his beloved world from chaos. Destined to be the ancestor of Jor-El (future father of Superman) and Kal-El (the future Superman), Seg-El is the scion of the once prosperous El family and is blessed with an intuitive brilliance for all things technical. He now is living in Krypton’s lowest caste after his family was stripped of its rank. Georgina Campbell will play Lyta Zod.

Meanwhile, back in Europe, Italian national broadcaster RAI has released late last night the official video for 'Renaissance' from Skunk Anansie's singer Skin which will serve as the opening song of their lavish new period set epic series MEDICI: MASTERS OF FLORENCE which starts airing over there on October 17th and later on around the world starring Richard Madden as the prince of the famous clan or rulers who takes over the family business and gets into war against its enemies after his father, played by Dustin Hoffman, dies under suspicious circumstances. Now here's something very much intriguing: Snow White's prince and Man from the U.N.C.L.E. Armie Hammer will go gay in CALL ME BY YOUR NAME a English language Italian movie adaptation of Andre Aciman's novel.

'THE DEEP' MERMAID SERIES

Meanwhile, FreeForm is rounding up its cast for their new mermaid fantasy series THE DEEP! The story will be set in Bristol Cove, a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn, as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean. As 'Deadline' reports today, the filming has started on the biopic of PROFESSOR MARSTON, about the man who created Wonder Woman. Luke Evans plays the lead role!

PROFESSOR MARSTON is about Dr. William Moulton Marston, Harvard psychologist and inventor who created Wonder Woman in 1941, his wife, fellow psychologist Elizabeth (Rebecca Hall), and their poly amorous relationship with Olive Byrne (Bella Heathcote), a former student of Marston’s and an academic in her own right. Marston created famous Amazonian princess with significant input from both his wife and their lover. After he died from cancer in 1947, Elizabeth and Olive raised their children by Marston together and remained a couple. The film will explore how Marston dealt with the controversy surrounding his creation while he and his partners navigated and concealed a romantic and family life that, if exposed, could have destroyed them all.

In December 1898, with the signing of the Treaty of Paris between Spain and the US, the war was finally ended between the two countries and Spain ceded sovereignty over the Philippines to the United States. This film tells the story of the squad, known as "The Last of the Philippines". Luis Tosar, Javier Gutiérrez, Álvaro Cervantes lead the cast!

ABC will produce THE CROSSING sf series from Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie which revolves around refugees from a war torn country who start showing up seeking asylum in a U.S. city but the country these people are from is America, and the war they are fleeing is 500 years in the future

'THE GREAT WALL' NEW TRAILER

In the trailer department, you can check out the second trailer for epic adventure THE GREAT WALL which is out in China this December and in USA next February directed by legendary Zhang Yimou! A

mix of epic adventure, history and fantasy, the movie follows an epic battle for humanity in which an elite force makes a heroic stand atop the Great Wall of China. Andy Lau, Willem Dafoe and Pedro Pascal

lead the international cast. Although the movie looks visually breathtaking the casting of Matt Damon in it looks like a very sad joke indeed.

'UNDERWORLD: BLOOD WARS'

Well, what is an honest man to do when the cold Autumn strikes us as it is striking us right now, but to put on his (fake) fur cape, take his trusted sword and go do some vampire hunting? At least that is what the mistress of vampire slayers Selene is doing in UNDER WORLD 5: BLOOD WARS which should sink its fangs into US cinemas seats in the first week of new 2017, most European ones from November and December and UK next February! You can sink your

own teeth into the new trailer and character posters today to get the taste of the upcoming adventure! It is interesting that the sixth instalment is already in works with Kate Beckinsale in the lead role again!

Wuthering Heights author Emily Brontë is played by Chloe Pirrie, Jane Eyre author Charlotte by Finn Atkins with their youngest sister Anne played by Charlie Murphy. Their brilliant but reckless brother Branwell, whose destructive behaviour threatened to destroy his family, will be played by Adam Nagaitis. Jonathan Pryce plays their father.

'SALT AND FIRE' TRAILER

His character is described as a relentless, calculating and intense head of security for a global enterprise who is set against Jackman’s clawed Wolverine/ Logan hero. Titled simply LOGAN, the third Wolverine movie, directed by James Mangold, will see Hugh Jackman playing the super mutant for the last time, with Patrick Stewart also appearing in the movie as Professor X!The movie should be out next March!

'TUTANKHAMUN' EPIC SERIES

After the end of the successful first season of Victoria epic series, ITV is looking to secure their rule in the Sunday evening prime time slot with

another period set drama that starts its launch this Sunday! The four part epic adventure mini series TUTAN KHAMUN with Sam Neill and Max Irons, directed by our dear Peter Webber (Girl With the Pearl Earring), is written by leading screenwriter Guy Burt (Jekyll and Hyde, The Borgias) and will focus on the legendary personal story of Howard Carter, a solitary man on the edge of society who became an iconic figure and an unlikely hero. Waleed Elgadi and AmyWren also star.

Of course, the main news for most movie goers today is the reveal of the final ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY trailer and poster! Starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tyduk, the sf adventure, set in a time of cosmic unrest, will see them playing a group of unlikely heroes who band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction. This prequel which explains how the Rebels got the plans of Death Star, hits cinemas this December and hopefully won't be as dreadfully boring as The Force Awakens (it made us sleep, it did).

Something entirely different: Monumental Pictures' biopic on Romantic poet Lord Byron's Victorian mathematician and computer science visionary daughter countess ADA LOVELACE! As 'Deadline' reports, Shawn Slovo is set to write a movie about Ada, a gifted mathematician who foresaw the possibilities of first computer designs and wrote what is recognized as the first algorithm intended to be carried out by a machine, a true visionary of the modern computer. Her personal life was more complicated, dominated by her controlling mother who, after she divorced Byron soon after marrying him, denied her daughter any creative outlet in the hope that she would not take after him. As well as her lust for scientific innovation, Lovelace had a passion for parties and gambling and tragically died never seeing her ideas realized.

Believe it or not, people, winter is very close and with it the end of the year with festive December movie season in cinemas. Although we don't have any Hobbits or Lord of the Rings to bring up the magic, we will have our dose of epic fun in the big screen adaptation of ultra popular video game ASSASSIN'S CREED with Michael Fassbender as the hooded knife throwing vigilante Callum Lynch which will sweep the movie theatres this Christmas week! Tell me, how excited are you? The talks of possible sequels are already circling around, and some stories say certain scenes for the

second part have already been shot during the shooting of the first upcoming movie.

THE STORY

Career criminal Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) is rescued from his own execution by Abstergo Industries, the modern day incarnation of the Templar Order. He is forced to participate in the Animus Project and relive the memories (through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his own genetic memories) of his 17th century ancestor Aguilar de Nerha (also

played by Fassy), an Assassin during the Spanish Inquisition. As Lynch continues to experience Aguilar's memories, he begins to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to confront the Templars, age-old enemies of the Assassins, in the present day.

MARION COTILLARDAND JEREMY IRONS STAR

With Michael Fassbender playing the lead role, the lead female one is portrayed by French star Marion Cotillard! She plays the leading scientist of the Animus project at Abstergo Foundation which is

dedicated to the "perfection" of humankind and is owned by her father played by Jeremy Irons. Callum's father is, meanwhile, portrayed by Brendan Gleeson. The $200 million worth movie adventure is directed by Justin Kurzel who already worked with Fassy and Cotillard together on Macbeth. The premiere of the movie has been

pushed four times so far before the movie got its Christmas 2016 opening date. The "Leap of Faith" stunt seen on the poster, in which

Callum is jumping into air from a tower wasn't done by special effects but by one of the stuntmen who did a record breaking 125 feet high free fall.

JUSTIN THEROUX JOINS

'MUTE' WITH ALEXANDER SKARSGARD AND PAUL RUDD

We're talking all Netflix today, starting with the news coming from 'Variety' that Justin Theroux has joined Paul Rudd and Alexander Skarsgard in their sf movie MUTE! To be directed by Warcraft helmer Duncan Jones the movie will see Skarsgard portraying a mute bartender in Berlin, 40 years in the future in what has become a roiling city of immigrants, where East crashes against West. His character will be looking for a woman who has disappeared — and when his search takes him deep into the city’s underbelly, an odd pair of American surgeons seem to be the only recurring clue.

'GILMORE GIRLS' FINAL SEASON

A treat for the ladies, today! Netflix has released the first four posters for their farewell four episodes for legendary GILMORE GIRLS series which will start airing all of its four new and last ever episodes from November 25th with each episode done in a form of a hour and a half long television episode set in four different seasons, so you will follow the important moments in Lorelai's (Lauren Graham) and Rory's (Alexis Bledel) lives in a spring, summer, autumn and winter setting (hence the title A YEAR IN LIFE), nine years after we last saw the events in Stars Hollow. As you know Lorelai is probably getting back together

with Luke, Rory is pursuing her career in politics, and rumour has it one of them might be expecting a baby, but it might just be a rumour!

We're all space and science fiction today, starting with the news coming from British director Marc Munden who has just cast Joseph Gordon Levitt for his new sf thriller SOVEREIGN with Amy Adams'Arrival sf film producers doing this one as well!

SOVEREIGN
will see Joseph Gordon Levitt in the role of a man who, in the wake of a fractured marriage, goes to find his wife and the entire crew of a space station who have gone missing. As he explores the ship, he discovers the truth about their disappearance and is forced to confront his own role in losing her.

'GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2'

IS HERE! OBVIOUSLY!

Although the first one was rather mediocre at its best and not that much funny if at all, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is getting its sequel and today you can watch first footage from it showing Chris Pratt as Star Lord and also Zoe Saldana doing a bit of flying with the Rocket Raccoon punching some walls. Set to be released into galaxy next May it will again be directed by James Gunn with Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell also making appearances in the sf adventure because, you know, the galaxy won't save itself.

Well, if you weren't already looking forward to Disney's sequel to their celebrated classic MARY POPPINS RETURNS now you might because the latest British star to join the cast lead

by Emily Blunt in the title role of the magical nanny is Colin Firth! In the movie set for Christmas 2018 release, he will be playing William Weatherall Wilkins, president of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank.

The story is set 25 years after the events of the first Mary Poppins movie.following the now grown children from the 1964 original, Michael and Jane Banks, who experience a personal loss that results in the arrival of the magical Mary Poppins, who teams up with her lamplighter friend Jack (Lin Manuel Miranda) to help the family. Directed by Rob Marshall it will have Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer playing the grown up kids.

TOM HARDY TO PLAY

LEGENDARY ANTARCTIC EXPLORER SHACKLETON

He did quite a lot of epic movies so far, but according to 'Deadline'Tom Hardy is set to do a new one, and a cold one as well. He will play famous explorer Ernest SHACKLETON in a Studiocanal movie about the legendary adventurer who led three British expeditions to the Antarctic, although the polar explorer is best remembered in how he handled adversity. His ship Endurance was crushed by ice floes and he managed to keep everyone alive in a harrowing journey to safety in sub zero temperatures.

'EARLY MAN' ANIMATED FILM

What a combo indeed: as 'The Hollywood Reporter' writes today our fave Hiddles in the world Tom Hiddleston will join another of our

faves Eddie Redmayne in lending voices to Aardman's new animated movie EARLY MAN! It will be Oscar winner Nick Park's (Wallace and Gromit) first animated feature in more than a decade. In this prehistoric comedy adventure Hiddles will voice the ridiculously pompous Lord Nooth, governor of the Bronze Age town, a money loving tyrant and rival to the film’s Stone Age hero, Dug (Redmayne)!

EARLY MAN, set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, tells the story of plucky caveman Dug, along with sidekick Hognob, who unites his tribe against the mighty Bronze Age in the first ever game of soccer. The movie, which is

currently shooting in Bristol and looking for a USA distributor, will be released around Europe in 2018!

TO LEAD NEW ABC SITCOM!

This season really did not bring us many multi camera sitcoms, but networks are slowly picking up orders for possible new pilots and one of them, an untitled one, will have a legendary comedian returning to the small screens! As 'Deadline' reports Carol Burnett will star in ABC's pilot for a new sitcom, produced by Amy Poehler, about a family who gets a chance to buy the house of their dreams, a house they’d never be able to afford under normal circumstances, but is able to under extremely abnormal circumstances. They must live with the current owner, an older actress (Burnett) — until she dies.

STOCKARD CHANNING, CANDICE BERGEN, KATHY BATES' SITCOMS

She is not the only legendary female comedian to return to TV soon, NBC is developing a Stockard Channing sitcom pilot ME & MEAN MARGARET (about a fearsome faded film and Broadway legend and the unwitting boy lawyer who has to babysit her), Candice Bergen is to topline sitcom PEARL (as a larger than life family matriarch who finds out she has cancer, and becomes intent on controlling and orchestrating every aspect of her family's life before she dies), while Kathy Bates will lead sitcom DISJOINTED for Netflix as a mom who runs her own marijuana dispensary with the help of her three sons!

But a multi camera sitcom to arrive to us as early as next Thursday is CBS comedy THE GREAT INDOORS which is set to premiere in primetime on October 27th with Joel McHale

portraying Jack who has made a name for himself as an adventure reporter for the magazine Outdoor Limits. His days of exploring the world end when the magazine's founder, Roland, announces its move to web-only publishing and assigns Jack to supervise the Millennials who make up its online team.

Stephen Fry will appear as Roland: an outdoorsman in his own right and founder of the magazine! Christopher Mintz Plasse as Clark: a tech nerd who knows everything about surviving on Mars and a zombie apocalypse yet has not been out of the city! Christine Ko as Emma: the social media expert who views Jack as the human version of dial-up!

Shaun Brown as Mason: a hipster who has not spent any actual time outside. Susannah Fielding as Brooke: Roland's daughter and Jack's ex-girlfriend and current boss.Chris Williams as Eddie: Jack's best friend, who runs the local bar and helps him understand his co-workers!

'A WRINKLE IN TIME'

As 'Deadline' reports today, the latest one to join the big screen adaptation of A WRINKLE IN TIME is Chris Pine! He will apparently be Mr. Murray, father to the main character Meg, played by Storm Reid, and husband to Dr. Kate Murray played by Gugu Mbatha Raw!

A WRINKLE IN TIME follows a young girl whose government scientist father has gone missing after working on a mysterious project called a tesseract, which involves being transported to a fifth dimension with mysterious inhabited planets. She takes part in a search for her father and sees some incredible creatures along the way.

'NERUDA' TRAILER

From Chile comes the trailer for the movie which will represent them at this year's Oscar nominations race for best foreign film. NERUDA, in which Gael Garcia Bernal plays an inspector charged to hunt down Nobel Prize winning Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (Luis Gnecco), who becomes a fugitive in his home country in the late 1940s for joining the Communist Party.The movie will have its North American release from December 16th!
